Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Austin! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Koko! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Koko tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Koko throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Austin misses with a double jab
and Koko counters with a lovely straight right hand! Austin swinging wildly here.
Austin throws a right and a left that both miss. Koko let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. We've been told by Austin's head coaches at Bi-polar Asylum that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Austin tries to clinch up but Koko circles away and keeps his distance. Austin blocks a head kick by Koko.
Austin swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Some wild striking there from Austin.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Koko dodges the punch combination from Austin.
Koko has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Austin is landing a low percentage of strikes. Austin fails with an attempt to clinch.
Austin is looking to clinch but Koko is avoiding it.
That's one minute gone in the round. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Austin checks a leg kick. Austin misses with a combination
and Koko counters with a head kick that drops Austin to the mat! Austin scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly! Austin misses the shot to the body. Koko swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Austin connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Austin clinches with his opponent.
Austin misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Austin displaying some good clinch control by pressing Koko up against the cage. Austin taking a breather. Austin scores with a shoulder strike. Koko wants to break free but Austin has control.

The referee calls for Austin to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Austin misses with a short punch on the inside. Austin throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Austin is stalling here.
Austin throws a punch but it's blocked by Koko. Koko blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Austin tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Koko's elbow. Austin is struggling to control the position. Koko is trying to break free. Austin manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Koko's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Austin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Koko on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Koko.
Austin is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Koko was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. Austin throws a right hand that Koko ducks under and follows up with a left that Koko also avoids with ease. Koko smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Austin tries to clinch up but Koko circles away and keeps his distance. Koko circles away from the clinch attempt.
The crowd cheers as Koko lands an impressive looking overhand right. Austin doesn't seem phased though. Koko circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Austin drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Koko follows Austin to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Michael Koko! Michael Koko is the new light heavyweight champion! Our winner, Michael Koko, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
