Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rory Marks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John MacDougal!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marks gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
MacDougal looking to sit in guard and control but Marks gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
MacDougal is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Marks is controlling him.
Marks is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
MacDougal throws his legs up looking for a submission but Marks uses it to pass to side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Marks gets to mount! MacDougal was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Marks pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Marks breaks from MacDougal's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Marks working away from the top, dropping strikes.
MacDougal is rocked!
Marks loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have MacDougal scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Marks land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Marks stands and salutes the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rory Marks!
