Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
36 - 21 - 0, fighting out of London, Craig Mason! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
23 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Cameron Saber! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mason throws a poor cross that misses
and Saber counters with a straight right hand. Mason misses with a takedown and Saber counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Mason uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Saber. As Saber tries to get set, Mason tries to push him back and clinch up but Saber manages to avoid the attempt. Mason throws a looping overhand right but Saber ducks down to avoid it. Saber throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Saber takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Mason tries to score with a low kick but Saber moves his leg out of the way. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mason gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Mason throws the left hand but Saber avoids the punch easily. Saber slips under a jab from Mason. Mason shoots in looking for a takedown but Saber manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mason's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Saber looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Saber throws a hook but Mason blocks it. Saber fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Saber cracks Mason with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Mason misses with a lunging right hand
and Saber counters with a stiff right hand.
It looks like Craig Mason has been cut. Mason fails to land with a series of punches.
Saber has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Mason uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Saber. Mason went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Mason throws a right hand that misses
and Saber counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Saber might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Mason rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Saber moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Mason misses with a leg kick and Saber counters with a big right hand! Oh Mason is in trouble here! Saber follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cameron Saber! Cameron Saber gave a mention to 95% Laundry in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
