Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Corales (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Schmo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schmo has chosen Sick Puppies- You're going down as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus Corales!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Schmo!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Schmo. No joy for Corales on that attempt.
Joe Schmo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Corales throws an overhand right that lands on Schmo's shoulder, as Schmo tries to avoid the shot.
Corales shoots in for a takedown but Schmo shows good takedown defense.
Corales takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Corales takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Schmo fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Schmo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Corales moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Schmo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

The fight stays on the outside here - Corales looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Corales tries to clinch but Schmo moves out of range.
Schmo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Corales shoots for a takedown but Schmo saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Corales takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Schmo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Schmo fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Corales misses with a takedown attempt - Schmo sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Schmo misses with a series of wild punches.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Schmo throws a right and a left that both miss.
Corales shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Schmo as he jumps to the side.
Schmo scoring well with a low kick there.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Corales shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Schmo but Schmo pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Corales is breathing heavily.
Schmo fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Corales tries to clinch there but Schmo circles away.
Schmo moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Corales takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Schmo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Corales on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Schmo. Schmo obviously looking to wear him down.

Corales wants to clinch up but Schmo keeps it at a distance.
Schmo cracks a nice hook into Corales's ribs.
Schmo fails to land with a series of punches.
Schmo circles away from the clinch attempt.

Good leg kick by Schmo there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Schmo looks to land a combination but Corales avoids it well.

Horrible takedown by Corales or perhaps it was just good defense by Schmo which made him look bad.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Schmo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Corales takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Corales is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Corales. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Corales shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Corales tries to close the distance and clinch up but Schmo swats him away and circles back towards the center.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Schmo tries to land a front kick but Corales steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Schmo throws the kick towards the body but Corales avoids it.
Schmo scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Corales fails with the takedown
and Schmo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Corales tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Schmo paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Schmo has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Corales off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

and Schmo counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Corales gets cracked there but stands up to it.

enabling Schmo to counter with a crisp jab.
Schmo lands a jab to the head.

Corales closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Corales lands in his opponent's guard.
Marcus Corales has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Joe Schmo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Marcus Corales.
I think Schmo has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
