Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dong Monroe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dong Monroe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jason Hunter! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Phil Schofield and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hunter drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hunter postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Monroe bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hunter's guard. Monroe controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Hunter controls Monroe momentarily but Monroe frees himself. Monroe could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hunter wants to control but Monroe passes easily into half guard.
Hunter tries to kick Monroe off but Monroe keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hunter won't allow Monroe to pass to mount. Hunter is trying to control but can't.
Hunter is trying to get back to full guard. Hunter is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hunter tries to kick Monroe off but Monroe keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Monroe tries to clinch but Hunter moves out of range. Sloppy strikes from Hunter. Those never looked like landing. Hunter defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Monroe. Monroe slips a jab and a cross from Hunter.
Hunter looks to land a combination but Monroe avoids it well. Hunter throws a body shot but no joy. Hunter misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Hunter throws a series of punches but Monroe moves out of range.

Monroe half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Hunter rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Monroe moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Hunter looks winded! Monroe tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hunter paws at him with a jab and circles away. Monroe avoids a punch combination nicely.

Hunter throws a right and a left that both miss. Hunter fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Monroe defending well as Hunter loads up on a big left hand. Hunter takes a swing at Monroe's ribcage but misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Monroe shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hunter sprawls well. Hunter wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Monroe gets slowly back to his feet. Hunter throws a series of punches but Monroe moves out of range. Hunter lands a really nice looking cross but Monroe seems unphased.
Hunter moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hunter throws an overhand right that lands on Monroe's shoulder, as Monroe tries to avoid the shot. Hunter scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Monroe cracks Hunter with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Hunter misses with a series of wild punches.
Monroe slips under a jab. Monroe appears to be looking for a big counter. Monroe will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jason Hunter dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
No joy there for Hunter, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Hunter scores with a jab to the jaw. A combination from Hunter does no damage. Monroe throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Monroe tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hunter swivels and escapes. Monroe lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hunter circles away quickly and effectively. Hunter misses with a two punch combination.
Hunter throws a nice looking combination but Monroe bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Monroe tries to keep at a distance but Hunter has taken the fight into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hunter tightens his grip and picks Monroe up, before dumping him to the ground. Monroe manages to land in guard. Monroe tries to land a sweep but no joy. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Monroe is on top in guard.
Hunter has been the more effective fighter overall so far. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Monroe content to stall in guard here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Monroe prevents Hunter from getting back to his feet. Monroe is stalling in the full guard. Monroe is looking to work some ground and pound but Hunter has wrist control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Hunter is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Monroe is controlling him. Monroe controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Monroe has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hunter will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hunter has taken the fight to the clinch.
Hunter turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Monroe manages to get back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hunter wants to pass to mount but Monroe is defending the position. Monroe trying to hold on to Hunter's head to control him but Hunter postures up.
Monroe manages to get to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hunter loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Monroe lands a couple of shots from the bottom.

Monroe is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Monroe trying to strike off his back.
Hunter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Monroe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Monroe thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Hunter must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Monroe looking to control.
Jason Hunter has got the better of the ground game so far. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hunter's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Hunter trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jason Hunter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Monroe's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

It looks like Dong Monroe has been cut. Monroe misses with a jab, cross combination.
Monroe checks a leg kick. Hunter closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Monroe quickly recovers to half guard. Monroe gets full guard. Monroe trying to keep a closed guard but Hunter is proving a slippery customer.
Hunter with a flurry of punches that miss. Hunter throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Monroe works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Hunter postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Monroe is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hunter loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Hunter got a little sloppy there for a moment and Monroe has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hunter has managed to get both his arms back between Monroe's legs - danger averted.
That's one minute gone in the round. Monroe preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Monroe wants to sweep here but Hunter controlling him for the moment. Hunter lands a couple of decent looking shots. Hunter with a nice head shot there. Hunter postures up in Monroe's guard and throws a big left but Monroe blocks it. Hunter takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Monroe is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Hunter postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Monroe is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hunter, into his guard. Hunter has momentary wrist control but Monroe slips an elbow through the middle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hunter looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Monroe puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Monroe takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Monroe prevents Hunter from standing back up.
Still in half guard, Monroe seems content to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hunter tries to get to full guard but Monroe has control of the leg. Monroe controlling the pace. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Jason Hunter is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Hunter manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Monroe on his heels. He'll look to pass Monroe's guard now, I'm sure. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hunter stands up over Monroe, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Hunter is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Monroe has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Hunter is looking to defend but Monroe has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Hunter! Monroe pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Hunter taps out and this one is all over!
