And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dickie Felterbush!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crusher wants to clinch up but Felterbush keeps it at a distance.
Felterbush is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Felterbush has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Crusher keeps the fight on the outside.
Jeremy Crusher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice sprawl there from Felterbush as Crusher shoots in.
Crusher tries to clinch up but Felterbush circles away and keeps his distance.
Felterbush moves forwards but Crusher connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Crusher gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Felterbush counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Crusher is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Crusher looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Felterbush is fending him off so far but Crusher persists. Nope, Felterbush circles away and we're back to standing.

Crusher has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Felterbush pivots, looking for a leg kick but Crusher is out of range and Felterbush settles back down.
Crusher swings for the body but Felterbush moves out of range.

Crusher throws a low kick, looking for Felterbush's leg but Felterbush calmly moves out of range.
A nice side step and Felterbush releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Felterbush lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Crusher has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Crusher and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Crusher goes for a double leg but Felterbush avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Felterbush continues to drive forward.

Crusher feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Crusher connects with a nice short shot to Felterbush's temple.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Crusher closes the distance and clinches up with Felterbush, looking for a takedown. Crusher pushes Felterbush against the cage but Felterbush circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well Felterbush has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
