Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Raiymbek Batyr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Keiran Corkhill! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Anthony Taglia and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Corkhill has a takedown stuffed. Corkhill gets tackled into the cage by Batyr. Batyr maintains the clinch. Batyr with a knee to the head.
It looks like Keiran Corkhill has been cut. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Batyr creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Corkhill tries for a takedown. No joy.
Corkhill is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Batyr can't fight it off and eventually Corkhill manages to take the fight to the floor. Batyr looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Batyr is looking to stand up but Corkhill isn't so interested in that idea. Batyr knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Corkhill on the ground. Batyr is pushing Corkhill's head away, looking to escape. Corkhill manages to hold on to the position though. Corkhill looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Batyr wants to get back to his feet. Corkhill tries for a kimura but Batyr is defending well. Batyr pushes Corkhill away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Corkhill gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Corkhill working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Batyr is trying to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Corkhill looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Corkhill is looking to take a break and control but Batyr is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Corkhill is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Batyr knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Corkhill tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Corkhill working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Batyr is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Batyr trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Batyr is looking to get back to his feet here but Corkhill is keeping cool and he's managed to take Batyr's back. Batyr is trying to get back to his feet but Corkhill has full control of the position and if anything, Batyr has just worked his way into a worse spot. Batyr is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Corkhill gets his way!

Keiran Corkhill dominated that round. The cut man is working on Keiran Corkhill's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Corkhill misses with a takedown attempt - Batyr sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Batyr forces Corkhill back against the cage and clinches. Nice elbow from Batyr. Batyr lands an elbow that stopped Corkhill in his tracks for a moment. Knees to the body from Batyr.
Corkhill has hold of one of Batyr's legs. Batyr is fighting the takedown attempt but Corkhill gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Corkhill is standing up over Batyr. Batyr looks to escape but Corkhill dives into side control.
Batyr tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Well, with Corkhill on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Batyr is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Batyr wants to get back to his feet. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Corkhill looking for the RNC.
That's one minute gone in the round. Corkhill has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Batyr has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Batyr is trying to get back to his feet but Corkhill has full control of the position and if anything, Batyr has just worked his way into a worse spot. Corkhill is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Batyr remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Corkhill will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Batyr wants to get back to his feet.
