Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
24 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Simo Silakka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

26 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carl Burns!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Silakka manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
As Burns looks to move away, Silakka throws a big counter combo bu Burns just gets out of the way.
Nice straight punches there by Silakka. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Silakka.
It looks like Carl Burns has been cut.

That kick from Silakka tenderised Burns's leg. Burns is trying to keep his angry face on.
Silakka blocks a head kick by Burns.
Silakka throws a lazy uppercut
and Burns counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

and Burns counters with a three punch combo that has Silakka backing up. Silakka nods at Burns to acknowledge the strikes.
Silakka tries to land a front kick but Burns steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Silakka seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Silakka throws a sloppy head kick and Burns moves out of range easily.
Burns keeps the fight on the outside.
Silakka throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Burns sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Burns wants to counter with a clinch but Silakka pushes him away.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Silakka wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Burns has him pressed against the cage.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Burns has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Silakka can't find room to land a body shot as Burns controls the action.

Silakka makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Silakka is looking to break free of the clinch but Burns has double underhooks.

Burns is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Burns works on Silakka's body with a couple of short punches.
Silakka pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Burns checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
A head kick from Silakka lands but Burns takes it in his stride.
Burns shoots for a double leg takedown but Silakka sprawls well. He's pushed Burns's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Silakka displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Burns.

Silakka blocks a head kick by Burns.
Silakka fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Burns.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Silakka buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Burns shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Silakka but Silakka pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Simo Silakka has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carl Burns.

Burns throws the kick towards the body but Silakka avoids it.
Silakka throws the left hand but Burns avoids the punch easily.
Burns scores with a head kick.
Burns fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Silakka avoids it really well and circles away.
Silakka throws a body punch but Burns moves out of range.
Silakka misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Simo Silakka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silakka throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Burns wants to counter with a clinch but Silakka pushes him away.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Burns turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Burns wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silakka keeps working.

Silakka is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Burns off and has taken his back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burns tries to escape but Silakka has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Burns turns into Silakka and is now in his guard.
Silakka working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Burns.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Simo Silakka dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Carl Burns's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Burns lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Silakka throws a leg kick which misses Burns's front leg but catches the back leg as Burns tries to avoid it.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Silakka here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Silakka gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Burns tries to pull guard but Silakka holds him up against the cage and eventually Burns drops back down to his feet.

Burns dives in for a single leg takedown but Silakka sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Silakka looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

Silakka throws a quick head kick that knocks Burns silly! This fight is all over! What a finish! Silakka is up on the cage, taking in the applause from the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Simo Silakka!
Simo Silakka really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that FinnFighter Nutrition (Five 160Q supps!) logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
