Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dawid Rafal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Juan Cabrillo!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rafal tries to land a leg kick but Cabrillo saw it coming and moves away.
The fighters circle momentarily. Rafal darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Cabrillo slips a jab from Rafal.
Cabrillo on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Rafal connects with a leg kick. Cabrillo looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Rafal lands a head kick. Cabrillo smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Cabrillo bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A little jabbing left from Cabrillo on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
A bone on bone clash there as Cabrillo blocks the leg kick.
A slow jab from Rafal misses its intended target.
Cabrillo looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

A nice side step and Cabrillo releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Rafal lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Rafal breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Dawid Rafal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cabrillo scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Rafal misses with a lunging right hand

and Cabrillo counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rafal won't be happy with that.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cabrillo wants to take a breather but Rafal manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Cabrillo.
Cabrillo postures up in Rafal's guard and throws a big left but Rafal blocks it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dawid Rafal will probably get the nod.

Cabrillo has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Rafal.
Cabrillo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rafal tries to avoid it but Cabrillo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rafal to the ground. Rafal escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Rafal is fighting off a takedown attempt but Cabrillo is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Rafal to the mat. Rafal regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Cabrillo throws an elbow that misses. Rafal uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Cabrillo's guard. Nice move by Rafal!

Rafal is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Rafal is looking to advance position but Cabrillo has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Juan Cabrillo has got the better of the ground game so far.
Cabrillo breaks from Rafal's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dawid Rafal will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Cabrillo has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
Rafal throws a leg kick but Cabrillo sees it coming and moves out of range.

Rafal appears to be looking for a big counter.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Cabrillo crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Rafal - the referee stops the clock and Cabrillo gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Rafal. Cabrillo manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Rafal throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rafal wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Cabrillo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rafal sprawls well initially but Cabrillo persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The fighters are battling for position here. Rafal manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rafal, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
