Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jason Spezza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Kingston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kingston has chosen 2pac - I'm Soulja as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Spezza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 3, fighting out of Montreal, Nate Kingston!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab lands there for Spezza.
Kingston misses with a few strikes there.
Kingston scores with a nice head shot.
Spezza definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Kingston looks to land a combination but Spezza avoids it well.
Spezza half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Spezza dodges the punch combination from Kingston.
Spezza half committed to a counter leg kick.
Kingston's corner calls for a 1-2. Kingston obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Kingston circles away from the clinch attempt.
Spezza scoring well with a low kick there.
Nice jab there from Kingston.
Spezza feints and then cracks Kingston's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kingston down.
Spezza lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kingston misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sloppy strikes from Kingston. Those never looked like landing.
Kingston fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Spezza is out of range.

Spezza clinches up with Kingston and pushes him back against the cage.

Kingston pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kingston throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Spezza dodges the punch combination from Kingston.
Spezza tries to land a front kick but Kingston steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
As Spezza backs off Kingston throws a huge counter combo but Spezza manages to avoid it all.
Spezza doesn't manage to clinch there - Kingston circles away.
Kingston throws a counter combo.
Kingston throws a hook to the side of Spezza's head but Spezza sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Kingston throws a series of punches but Spezza avoids them all with ease.

Kingston tries to bum rush Spezza with a series of wild strikes but Spezza uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Kingston throws a body punch but Spezza moves out of range.
Spezza defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kingston.
Spezza keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Spezza wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Spezza feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Kingston's calf.
Spezza throws a leg kick but Kingston sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Spezza backing away here, and Kingston unleashes a leg kick that just misses.

Spezza fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kingston sprawls well initially but Spezza persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Kingston tries to roll over but Spezza keeps him under control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Spezza seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Kingston does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Spezza is looking for a kimura here.
Kingston tries to get to full guard but Spezza has control of the leg.
Spezza is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Kingston wants to improve his position but Spezza is controlling well.
Kingston is looking to control Spezza's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kingston avoid being mounted?
Kingston is looking for a sweep. Spezza is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kingston has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Spezza is working away from the top position though.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Kingston slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Spezza drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kingston dives on top into guard.

Kingston wants to pass the guard but Spezza is keeping the position.

Spezza wants to sweep here but Kingston controlling him for the moment.

Kingston has gone for a leg lock! Spezza slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kingston's guard.

Spezza trying to control but Kingston is working from the bottom.
Kingston has momentary wrist control but Spezza slips an elbow through the middle.

Kingston isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Spezza stacks Kingston on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Spezza!
Kingston wants to control but Spezza postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Nate Kingston will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Kingston ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Kingston lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Kingston misses with a series of wild punches.
That kick from Kingston tenderised Spezza's leg. Spezza is trying to keep his angry face on.

Spezza feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Spezza throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kingston lands a nice shot that snaps Spezza's head back.
Kingston on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Spezza. Spezza obviously looking to wear him down.
Nate Kingston seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Spezza pivots, looking for a leg kick but Kingston is out of range and Spezza settles back down.
And Kingston tries to counter it with a takedown but Spezza pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Spezza takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Spezza throws a body kick that misses.
Kingston lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Spezza circles away quickly and effectively.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kingston lands with an overhand left.
Kingston throws a leg kick
and Spezza counters with a thumping low kick.
Nate Kingston is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Donk. Kingston catches Spezza right on the button with a cross.
Kingston fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Spezza misses with a low kick.
Kingston is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Spezza with a body shot.
Kingston closes the distance and lands a one-two.
A solid leg kick lands there for Spezza.

Spezza dives in and scores a takedown into Kingston's guard.
Spezza with a nice head shot there.

Kingston is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Spezza defends well.
Kingston looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Spezza puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Spezza thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Spezza wants to control but Kingston is keeping him busy.
Kingston is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Spezza lands a nice short elbow.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Spezza passes to full mount!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kingston can't escape the position.
Spezza landing shots from mount.
Spezza wants to control the pace but Kingston is squirming around nicely.
Kingston's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Spezza can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kingston is looking to escape.

Jason Spezza overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kingston in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Spezza is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Spezza lands a big elbow.
Spezza scoring with strikes but Kingston is staying in there.

Spezza connects with a bit shot that sees Kingston covering up! More strikes from Spezza and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Spezza is our winner by TKO!
