Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Emery Devlin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luke Piloton!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, John Roberts and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Piloton shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Piloton controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Devlin working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Piloton.
Piloton controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Piloton missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Piloton avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Devlin has a closed guard, preventing Piloton from standing up.
Devlin working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Piloton.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Piloton engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Piloton scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Piloton stuffs the takedown.
Devlin misses with a kick to the body.
Devlin throws a sloppy head kick and Piloton moves out of range easily.
Devlin finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Devlin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Devlin tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Piloton has closed the distance and engaged Devlin in a clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Devlin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Piloton changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Devlin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Devlin prevents Piloton from improving position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Devlin is looking to regain half guard here but Piloton keeps moving and retains side control.

Piloton wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Devlin, who protects the arm well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Devlin is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Piloton is controlling him well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Piloton is looking to take a break and control but Devlin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Piloton is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Devlin tries to bench press Piloton off him but Piloton keeps the position.
Devlin wants to get back to his feet but Piloton drags him back down.
Piloton tries to advance to mount but can't.
Devlin looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Devlin tries to buck Piloton off but Piloton is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Piloton advances to mount.
Devlin is trying desperately to improve position.
Piloton trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Devlin regains half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Devlin moves into full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Luke Piloton dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Piloton gets the takedown into side control.
Devlin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Piloton on the ground.
Piloton blocks the strikes from Devlin.
Devlin is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Devlin looking for a sweep but Piloton has passed into full mount! Oh no!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Devlin tries to hold on but Piloton pushes him away.
Devlin has given up his back here.
Piloton is hanging on to Devlin's back as he tries to escape.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Piloton has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Devlin! Can he survive? No! He's out! Piloton gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Luke Piloton!
