Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ali Haji (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Big Barry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Big Barry is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ali Haji! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Big Barry ! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Bart Greer and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barry stuffs the takedown. Haji wants to clinch up but Barry keeps it at a distance. Haji fails with a takedown attempt. Barry is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Barry scores with a jab to the head.
Haji throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Barry 's waist but Barry gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Haji off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ali Haji. That's going to take a lot out of him. Barry moves into the clinch successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Haji tries a knee to the head but Barry blocks it.
Barry keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Haji's efforts to push away. Haji drags the fight down to the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Haji pulls Barry in to control the position.

Barry looks for a takedown but Haji sprawls well. Haji changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Haji shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Barry defends it nicely. Barry shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barry is trying hard to land a takedown here. Haji sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Barry shoots in for a takedown but Haji shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Barry moves into the clinch. Haji gets control of Barry 's arms and successfully pulls guard. Haji will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Barry wants to stand and escape but instead Haji has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Barry can do anything to dispel that myth. Haji loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Haji with a flurry of punches that miss. Haji sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Haji is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Haji engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Haji might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Barry will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Ali Haji dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Haji tries to close the distance and clinch up but Barry swats him away and circles back towards the center. Haji closes the distance and clinches up with Barry , looking for a takedown. Haji pushes Barry against the cage but Barry circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Barry fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Haji avoids it really well and circles away. Barry ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Haji moves away. Haji shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Barry sprawls well. Barry wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Haji gets slowly back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A thudding body kick lands there by Barry !
Barry throws a wild body kick that Haji sees coming a mile off. Haji stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Haji wants it to stay on the feet. As Barry tries to get set, Haji tries to push him back and clinch up but Barry manages to avoid the attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barry shoots for a takedown but Haji saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Ali Haji has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Big Barry . Barry tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Haji swivels and escapes. Haji fails with a takedown attempt. Nice body kick from Barry . Barry dives in and grabs Haji's left leg, looking for a takedown. Haji pushes down on Barry 's head and hops out. Haji drives through and clinches with Barry against the cage.
Haji wants to get back to striking at distance but Barry won't allow it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Haji jumps guard and drags Barry to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Barry is looking to stand up but Haji won't let him. Barry drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Haji dives on top into guard. Barry utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Haji stands and throws Barry 's legs to the side, diving into side control. Haji working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Haji in side control, just content to control the action for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barry tries to bench press Haji off him but Haji keeps the position. Barry is trying to get back to his feet. Haji is looking to take a break and control but Barry is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Haji wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Barry , who protects the arm well. Haji stands up and we're back to a striking position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Barry lands with a slapping head kick. Barry misses with a two punch combination.
Haji seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Barry leaves Haji with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Barry wants to counter the offense by Haji and move into the clinch position. Barry throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Haji. Haji circles away from the clinch attempt.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Haji tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Barry throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Haji counters with a three punch combo that has Barry backing up. Barry nods at Haji to acknowledge the strikes. Barry tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Haji manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fight stays on the outside here - Haji looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Barry keeps the fight on the outside. Haji moves in looking to clinch but Barry pushes him off. Barry wants to counter with a clinch but Haji pushes him away. Nice sprawl there from Barry as Haji shoots in. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Barry . Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Haji ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Haji no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Barry trying to control the position from guard on top but Haji is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Big Barry has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Ali Haji is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Haji trying to control the position here.
