Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ali Haji (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Big Barry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Big Barry is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Bart Greer and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barry stuffs the takedown.
Haji wants to clinch up but Barry keeps it at a distance.
Haji fails with a takedown attempt.
Barry is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Barry scores with a jab to the head.
Haji throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Barry 's waist but Barry gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Haji off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ali Haji. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Barry moves into the clinch successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Barry lands with a slapping head kick.

Haji seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Barry leaves Haji with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Barry wants to counter the offense by Haji and move into the clinch position.
Barry throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Haji.
