Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, EJ Junior! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Zach Anderson! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Junior lands a nice shot to the body.
Junior moves away from the strike by Anderson. Anderson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Junior. A head kick from Junior lands but Anderson takes it in his stride. Anderson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Anderson showed some decent athleticism there. Anderson trying to control from half guard but Junior is working away. Junior looks like he's trying to stand up.
Anderson performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Anderson prevents Junior from standing back up.
Junior pushes Anderson off and gets back to his feet. Junior keeps the fight on the outside. EJ Junior seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Junior throws a head kick but Anderson moves out of range.
Junior lands with a kick to the ribs.
A head kick misses from Junior. Junior scores with a three punch combo!
Anderson avoids the head kick by Junior.
Junior tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. EJ Junior is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Anderson blocks a head kick by Junior.
Junior throws a sloppy head kick and Anderson moves out of range easily. Junior pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Anderson shoots in and bounces Junior off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Junior knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Anderson on the ground. Anderson won't allow Junior to get back to his feet. Junior being controlled here, momentarily. Junior wants to get back to his feet but Anderson passes into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Junior tries to kick Anderson off but Anderson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Junior is breathing heavily. Junior is staying active underneath Anderson, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Anderson is nestled in close to Junior, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Anderson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Junior is trying to stand up here but Anderson is controlling him well. Anderson wants to control but Junior is keeping him busy. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Junior is in trouble now - Anderson has advanced to mount! Anderson is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Anderson!
