PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Uriel Amok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Muay Thai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Amok comes to the cage accompanied by Devils. Thai has chosen Town Called Malice as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 47 - 21 - 3, fighting out of London, Uriel Amok!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 20 - 0, fighting out of London, Muay Thai!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thai throws a front kick aimed at Amok's knee but Amok avoids it well.
Amok throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Thai sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Amok falls off balance throwing a combination
and Thai counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Thai takes a swing at Amok's ribcage but misses.
Amok drops down looking for a counter takedown but Thai sprawls and moves away.
Amok swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A slapping leg kick lands for Thai.
A swing and a miss from Amok.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Amok swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Thai moves out of range as Amok strikes.
A little jabbing left from Thai on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Thai scores with a jab. Amok acknowledges it with a nod of the head.


It looks like Uriel Amok has been cut.
Amok connects with a jab.
Muay Thai is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Amok pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Thai throws a low kick but it's checked well by Amok.
Thai blocks a jab.
Thai thinks about the counter body kick.
Amok misses with a leg kick.
Thai steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Amok looks to score with a jab to the body but Thai is just out of range.
Thai on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Amok. Amok obviously looking to wear him down.
Thai thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Amok if he has to take too many more of those.
Amok lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Thai at a distance.
Some bone on bone action there as Amok checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Amok throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Thai lands a leg kick that knocks Amok off balance momentarily.
Thai throws a big shot that misses.
Amok attempts a counter takedown but Thai avoids it well and moves away.

Thai misses with a body kick.
Amok misses with a hook
enabling Thai to counter with a crisp jab.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Thai - that will leave a mark!

Amok closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Thai quickly recovers to half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Amok wants to control but Thai is keeping him busy.
Thai is looking to escape.
Amok throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Amok scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Amok is trying to control. Thai wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Thai avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Amok.

Thai is staying active underneath Amok, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Amok throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Thai makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Thai.
Amok trying to control but Thai is working from the bottom.
Amok stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thai swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Amok throws a right hand that misses
and Thai counters with a right hand to the body.
Thai keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Amok checks a leg kick.
Amok connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Amok throws a chopping leg kick but Thai manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Thai is trying to counter with his kicks.

Thai drops Amok with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Amok looks back up at him and smiles so Thai waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Uriel Amok's cut is getting worse.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Thai throws a low kick but it's checked well by Amok.
Thai throws a chopping leg kick but Amok manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Uriel Amok seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A slapping body kick lands there for Thai.
Amok blocks a low kick nicely.
Thai lands a nice leg kick that just misses Amok's sensitive parts.
Thai throws a head kick but Amok moves out of range.
Amok throws a lazy uppercut
and Thai counters with a slapping leg kick.
Thai fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Muay Thai dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Uriel Amok's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Thai scores with a sloppy right hand. Amok should have avoided that one.
Amok misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Thai avoids the body shot from Amok.
Amok is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Thai.
Amok moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromThai.
Thai uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Amok.
Amok avoids the head kick by Thai.
Amok drops down looking for a counter takedown but Thai sprawls and moves away.
Thai connects with an inside leg kick.
Amok lands a leg kick that knocks Thai off balance momentarily.

Thai tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A good leg kick by Thai.
A left and a right from Amok both land. Nice combination.


It looks like Muay Thai has been cut.

Amok gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Thai counters with a nice uppercut.
Thai scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Thai takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Amok throws a low kick but it's checked well by Thai.
Thai misses with a head kick.
Thai throws the kick towards the body but Amok avoids it.

Amok looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Thai!
Amok is trying to ground and pound but Thai uses the momentary lack of control by Amok to regain half guard.
Amok throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Thai won't allow Amok to pass to mount.
Amok's legs have taken a beating and he's really slowing down as a result.
Amok wants to control but Thai is keeping him busy.
Thai regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Amok.
Thai keeping moving, preventing Amok from controlling successfully.
Amok trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Amok trying to control the position from guard on top but Thai is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Amok looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Thai punishes Amok's body with a nice straight punch.
Amok takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Amok tries to work over Thai's front leg with a kick but Thai checks it.
Thai follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Amok moves out of range as Thai strikes.
Thai pivots, looking for a leg kick but Amok is out of range and Thai settles back down.

Thai throws a body kick that misses.
Amok misses with an uppercut
and Thai counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.


Uriel Amok's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Thai has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Thai does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Jab by Thai.
Amok misses with a looping right.
Muay Thai seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Amok throws an overhand right that lands on Thai's shoulder, as Thai tries to avoid the shot.
Amok backing away here, and Thai unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Amok chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Thai can pounce on him.
Amok is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
An inside leg kick lands from Thai.
Amok throws a looping overhand right but Thai ducks down to avoid it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Amok throws a hook but Thai blocks it.
Thai lands a slapping body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Muay Thai showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's time! Amok's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Amok dips to his left and cracks Thai with an uppercut!
Amok avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Thai has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Amok is defended easily by Thai.
A little jabbing left from Thai on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Amok misses with a two punch combination.
Thai with a jab.
Thai misses with a low kick as Amok jumps back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice takedown defense from Thai. No joy for Amok on that attempt.

Thai lands a left and a right that send Amok crashing to the mat, dazed. Thai thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Amok is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Amok takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Oh Amok is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Thai moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Thai is looking to slow Amok down with leg kicks.
Amok leaves his chin hanging out and Thai seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Amok crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Muay Thai!
Muay Thai seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
