Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roope Latvala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tero Elo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Latvala comes to the cage accompanied by Children of Bodom - Tie my rope. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roope Latvala!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tero Elo!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Latvala tries to avoid it but Elo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Latvala to the ground. Latvala escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Latvala fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Elo looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Latvala scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Latvala misses with a hook. Elo ducked under it nicely.
Elo looks for a takedown but Latvala sprawls well.
Elo has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Elo there as he acknowledges the shot.
A slapping body kick lands there for Latvala.
Elo looks winded!
Latvala defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Elo.
Roope Latvala has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tero Elo.
Latvala slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Latvala throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Elo.
Latvala jabs Elo to the body, keeping him at a distance.

and Latvala counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Elo ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Latvala lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Elo has his takedown stuffed
and Latvala counters with a nice low kick that buckles Elo's knee momentarily.
Elo takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Latvala has been working on his boxing with his coaches at AD Sparstars Inc. in the buildup to the fight.

Elo shoots in and drives through. Latvala sprawls well.
Elo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
enabling Latvala to counter with a crisp jab.

Latvala throws the left hand but Elo avoids the punch easily.

Elo dives in and scores a takedown into Latvala's guard.

Elo wants to pass the guard but Latvala is keeping the position.

Latvala had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Elo defends it easily.
Elo passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Elo tries to move to mount but Latvala blocks the move with his legs.

Elo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Latvala is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Latvala is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Latvala wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Latvala gets full guard.
Elo trying to control but Latvala is working from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Elo tries to free his leg and advance position but Latvala is retaining full guard.
Latvala keeping moving, preventing Elo from controlling successfully.
Latvala manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Elo manages to get himself to full guard.

Elo shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Latvala napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Elo advances to mount.

Elo goes for an armbar but Latvala turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Latvala.

Elo isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Latvala stacks Elo on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Latvala!

Latvala tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Latvala goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Elo has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Latvala but great work by Elo.

Latvala is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Elo's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Elo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Latvala defends it well.

Elo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
My spies in Nordic Top Team inform me that Elo has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Elo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Latvala swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Tero Elo has got the better of the ground game so far.
Elo won't allow Latvala to sweep him here.

Latvala is trying to keep Elo in close.

Latvala is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Latvala is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Elo is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Elo wants to control from the top but Latvala keeps moving.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Elo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Latvala's waist but Latvala gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Elo off to one side.
Elo closes the distance and clinches up with Latvala, looking for a takedown. Elo pushes Latvala against the cage but Latvala circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Elo dives in for a single leg takedown but Latvala sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Roope Latvala has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tero Elo.
Elo walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Latvala scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Elo dives in for a single leg takedown but Latvala sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Elo on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Elo throws a jab but it's blocked by Latvala.
Latvala moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Elo misses with a body punch
and Latvala cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Latvala, as that shot connected.


Elo is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Elo shoots for a double leg takedown but Latvala sprawls well. He's pushed Elo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Elo is still on wobbly legs! Can Latvala finish him?

Latvala bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Elo's head backwards.
Latvala cracks Elo with a brutal left hook that knocks him out cold! This one is over in a flash! Game over!

After winning the bout, Roope Latvala thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
