PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rick Glen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Hart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hart has chosen Hide Your Tears as his entrance music. The key to victory for Rick Glen has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rick Glen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Hart!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Glen throws a series of punches but Hart moves out of range.
Glen lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hart circles away quickly and effectively.
Hart tries a head kick but it misses.
Glen moves out of range of the body kick from Hart.
Hart misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Glen throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Nice takedown defense from Glen. No joy for Hart on that attempt.
Glen appears to be looking for a big counter.
Glen lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Hart blocks a head kick by Glen.
A head kick misses from Glen.
Hart thows a leg kick but Glen checks it
and Glen counters with a three punch combo that has Hart backing up. Hart nods at Glen to acknowledge the strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Glen throws a head kick that half lands.
Glen throws a sloppy head kick and Hart moves out of range easily.
Glen lands with an overhand left.
Hart has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Hart there as he acknowledges the shot.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Hart.
Hart working the ground and pound.
Glen is trying to control Hart's posture but Hart avoids it.

Hart thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Hart has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Glen is not content to let Hart control the position.
Hart tries to advance to mount but can't.
Hart controls the position from side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Hart is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Glen has escaped the position, nice work there.

Hart is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Glen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Glen gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Hart has hold of Glen's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Glen manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Hart looking to secure an arm triangle but Glen defends it well.
Hart tries to control but Glen wriggling away.
Glen tries to buck Hart off but he can't manage it.
Glen is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Glen tries to improve his position but instead Hart has taken his back!

Hart has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hart scores with strikes from the back.
Hart gets his hands free as Glen looks to control.

Glen defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Hart is not going to allow Glen to sit and survive in this position.

Hart looking for the choke from the back.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hart tightening his grip on Glen, looking for the choke.

Hart patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Daniel Hart dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Hart takes a body punch but keeps moving.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Glen.
Glen on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Rick Glen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Hart closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Hart has hold of one of Glen's legs. Glen is fighting the takedown attempt but Hart gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Hart slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Glen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Daniel Hart has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hart lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Hart thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Hart slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hart wants to control from the top but Glen keeps moving.
Hart pushing down on Glen's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Hart is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Hart is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Glen sees it coming and defends easily.
Hart uses his free foot to push down on Glen's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Glen.
Hart looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hart lands a big shot to the head and Glen winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Daniel Hart!
During a confident post fight interview, Daniel Hart thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
