Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Boyd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jer Bear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bear has chosen Good Times as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Jer Bear will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bear has Boyd up against the cage in a clinch.
Bear misses with a knee strike.

Bear lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Boyd backwards. Boyd could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bear is trying to pull guard but Boyd turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Bear lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Bear jumps guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bear is on top in guard.

Boyd wants to get back to his feet but Bear is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Bear with a nice head shot there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boyd landing with the ground and pound. Boyd is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Extreme MMA (7 Elites $250/week) that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Boyd stops Bear from standing up.

Bear takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Bear cracks Boyd with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Bear lands with a right hand. Bear displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

Jer Bear is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. The fight moves into the clinch position. Bear changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Boyd fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Bear is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Bear scores with a nice strike. Bear has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Bear moves into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bear gets through Boyd's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Bear is trying to force a seperation but Boyd has the dominant position. A frustrated look appears on Bear's face as he tries to break the clinch. Bear looking for a takedown. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bear tries to circle away but Boyd has him pinned against the cage. Bear tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Alex Boyd has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jer Bear. Bear fails to pull guard.
Bear has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Bear letting Boyd take a breather here. Bear has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Bear lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Bear lands a left hand.

Jer Bear showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Alex Boyd's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
A punch combination from Bear misses. Bear dips to his left and cracks Boyd with an uppercut! Bear looks for the body kick but Boyd saw that one coming. Bear bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Boyd's guard. Bear trying to control but Boyd is working from the bottom. Bear scoring with punches to the head and body. Bear wants to control from the top but Boyd keeps moving. Bear is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Boyd wants to improve his position but instead Bear has moved into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bear thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Boyd's head. Boyd is not content to let Bear control the position. Boyd tries to roll over but Bear keeps him under control. Boyd is working hard here to advance position. Bear thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Well, if Bear is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Boyd is staying active underneath Bear, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Alex Boyd has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Bear is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Boyd manages to get to full guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bear accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Boyd looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Bear keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Boyd's head. Bear trying to control the position from guard on top but Boyd is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bear drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bear jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Boyd working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Bear. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Bear trying to control but Boyd is working from the bottom.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bear with a jab. Jer Bear is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Bear clinches up with Boyd and pushes him back against the cage.
And that's the end of the fight! Jer Bear comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Bear has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
