Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hugo Mccarthy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Balboa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Balboa has chosen 'Eye of The Tiger' by Survivor as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rocky Balboa has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Hugo Mccarthy's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hugo Mccarthy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rocky Balboa! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mccarthy tries to clinch there but Balboa circles away.
Balboa only half commits to the counter leg kick. Balboa fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mccarthy to the ground. Balboa is now in Mccarthy's guard. Balboa pushing down on Mccarthy's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Balboa wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mccarthy keeps working. Balboa thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mccarthy's head. Balboa prevents Mccarthy from improving his position. Balboa slows the pace down in half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Balboa throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Balboa missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Balboa is figuring out what he wants to do next. Mccarthy is refusing to be controlled, as Balboa sits in half guard. Balboa not landing any meaningful shots this time. Balboa wants to get back to his feet.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Mccarthy gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Balboa to score an easy takedown into full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Balboa is stalling in the full guard. Mccarthy tries to land a sweep but no joy. Balboa tries to free his leg and advance position but Mccarthy is retaining full guard. Mccarthy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Balboa works over Mccarthy with some ground and pound from guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Balboa wanted to stand there but Mccarthy had control of the position. Mccarthy working for a triangle but Balboa defends it easily.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Balboa throws a strike but Mccarthy rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Balboa looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mccarthy is one step ahead there. Mccarthy tries to stand but Balboa is controlling from the bottom. Balboa has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mccarthy can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Balboa is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rocky Balboa dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Mccarthy tries to clinch but Balboa moves out of range. Balboa shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Balboa was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Mccarthy is trying to get back to half guard. Mccarthy seems a little lost for a moment, as Balboa dominates the positioning. Mccarthy is positioning himself to get back to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Balboa tries to move to mount but Mccarthy blocks the move with his legs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mccarthy gets back to half guard. Balboa has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Balboa is trying to control the action in half guard but Mccarthy is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Mccarthy is looking for a sweep. Balboa is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Balboa thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mccarthy's head. Balboa seems to be working for a kimura but Mccarthy defends the submission attempt. Balboa slows the pace down in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Mccarthy looking for submissions off his back.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Balboa shoots in and gets a takedown into Mccarthy's guard. Mccarthy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Mccarthy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Balboa doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Balboa manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mccarthy wants to sweep here but Balboa controlling him for the moment. Balboa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mccarthy swivels though and keeps the full guard. Balboa's corner is telling him to maintain position. Mccarthy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Balboa has gone for a leg lock! Mccarthy slips out almost immediately though and dives into Balboa's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Mccarthy prevents Balboa from getting back to his feet. Balboa looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Mccarthy passes into half guard.
Balboa manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Mccarthy keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Mccarthy avoiding damage as Balboa throws knees to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Rocky Balboa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Balboa closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mccarthy did well to prevent Balboa getting side control. Balboa passes the guard and advances to mount! Balboa wants to control but instead Mccarthy manages to regain half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Balboa is looking for a kimura here.
Mccarthy tries to roll over but Balboa keeps him under control.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Mccarthy is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Balboa's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Balboa's back! Balboa wants to escape the position.
Mccarthy avoiding Balboa 's attempts to control his hands. Balboa takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Hugo Mccarthy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
