Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Clinton Hessler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonathan Segal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jonathan Segal told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
14 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Clinton Hessler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jonathan Segal!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Roger Salmon and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Segal lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Hessler at a distance.
Hessler pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Segal swings for the body but Hessler moves out of range.
Hessler was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
A chopping leg kick lands by Segal.
Segal scores with the left hand. Hessler knows he should have avoided that one.
Segal misses with a looping right.
A low kick from Hessler is predictable there
and Segal counters with a good, hard body kick but Hessler shrugs it off.
Hessler misses with a hook. Segal ducked under it nicely.
Hessler ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Hessler throws a leg kick but Segal moved away.
Segal feints a counter leg kick.
Segal misses with the combination.
Segal throws a leg kick but Hessler sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Hessler tried to score with a low kick but Segal checks it.

Hessler connects with a leg kick. Segal looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hessler keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Hessler lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Segal has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Segal and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Segal throws a body punch but Hessler moves out of range.
Clinton Hessler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hessler lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
We've been informed that Segal has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Hessler cracks Segal with a right hand to the side of the head.
Segal takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Hessler dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Segal misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Crunch! Segal slams his shin into Hessler's torso.

Segal looks to land a right hand but Hessler moved out of range.
Hessler attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Hessler bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Hessler swings for the body but Segal moves out of range.
Segal digs a good hook to Hessler's body.
Segal tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hessler manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Hessler throws the kick towards the body but Segal avoids it.
A chopping leg kick lands by Segal.
Hessler stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Segal feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Hessler's calf.
Segal buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Hessler scoring well with a low kick there.

Segal lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Segal swings for the body but Hessler moves out of range.
Hessler moves away from the strike by Segal.
Hessler displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Segal throws out the jab.
Hessler takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Segal throws out a loose jab but Hessler uses good head movement to avoid it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hessler just misses with a punch to the body.
Good exchange - Hessler coming out on top.
Hessler throws a leg kick which misses Segal's front leg but catches the back leg as Segal tries to avoid it.

Hessler gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Segal counters with an inside leg kick.
Segal fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Segal drops his hands momentarily and Hessler takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Segal cracks Hessler with a right hand to the side of the head.
Segal is looking to score with low kicks.
Segal clobbers Hessler with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Segal throws a body punch but Hessler moves out of range.
Segal throws a body kick that misses
and Hessler counters with an inside leg kick.
Segal doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Hessler throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Segal moves out of range of the body kick from Hessler.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A lazy left from Segal finds it's target.

Segal takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Crack! Hessler connects with the perfect overhand right and Segal falls face first to the canvas. Timbeeeeeeeer! Beautiful knockout for Hessler!
