Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fernando Fernandez ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tony Tibbs! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Felipe Paraventi and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tibbs fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Fernandez darts in and clinches Tibbs up against the cage. Fernandez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Fernandez closes the distance and clinches. Fernandez manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

A slapping body kick lands there for Fernandez . We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fernandez rushes Tibbs and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Fernandez looks to throw an elbow but misses. Tibbs has Fernandez pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Fernandez manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Fernandez stalling in the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tibbs gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Fernandez keeping full guard, as Tibbs tries to pass. Tibbs is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Fernandez trying to control the position.
Tibbs throwing strikes from guard but Fernandez blocks nicely. Fernandez wants to stand and escape but Tibbs is having none of it. Tibbs forces his way into half guard. Tibbs stops Fernandez from getting back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fernandez trying to hold on to Tibbs's head to control him but Tibbs postures up.
Tibbs maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Fernandez could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Tibbs has cracked it and Fernandez is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Tibbs!
