Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Neymar Riptide (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Waterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Riptide comes to the cage accompanied by The Evil. George Waterson is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Neymar Riptide!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, George Waterson!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Thiago Cunha and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waterson looks to land a body kick but Riptide moved away.
Riptide leaves Waterson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
No luck for Riptide with that takedown attempt.
Riptide tries to clinch up but Waterson circles away and keeps his distance.
Riptide darts in looking for a takedown but Waterson gets double underhooks and turns Riptide into the cage.
Riptide takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Riptide fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Neymar Riptide. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A decent looking cross lands there for Waterson.


It looks like Neymar Riptide has been cut.

Riptide tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Waterson just stands there and leans against the cage.
Waterson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Riptide avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Riptide swings wildly with an uppercut but Waterson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Waterson tries to pull guard but Riptide forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

A nice left hand lands by Waterson.
Riptide tries to score a body lock takedown but Waterson shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Waterson tries to break the clinch but Riptide is controlling the position.
Waterson is pushing Riptide up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Riptide is pressed up against the cage. Waterson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Riptide down to the mat. Riptide avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Waterson drops Riptide with a beautiful combination! Riptide stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Waterson is looking for the KO!

Waterson has managed to clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Waterson jumps guard but Riptide turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Riptide jumps into guard, dragging Waterson to the mat.
Waterson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Waterson wants to stand and escape but instead Riptide has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Riptide will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Riptide wants to stand but Waterson is controlling his arm.

Waterson tries to bench press Riptide off him but Riptide keeps the position.
Riptide creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Waterson is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Waterson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Neymar Riptide is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Waterson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Neymar Riptide overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Riptide is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Waterson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

You can see the frustration on Waterson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That was a close second round but I would say that Neymar Riptide will probably get the nod.

Riptide is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Waterson has managed to free his arm - good work.
Riptide is taking a breather. Waterson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Waterson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Riptide. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Riptide is thwarting Waterson's attempts to control the position.
Waterson is refusing to be controlled, as Riptide sits in half guard.
Riptide tries to stand but can't do so whilst Waterson controls his leg.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Waterson wants to control the action here but instead Riptide manages to pass to full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Waterson swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Riptide really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Riptide misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Waterson is desperately trying to improve his position but Riptide has a good base and remains in mount.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Riptide pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Waterson wants to control but Riptide is having none of it.
Waterson has given up his back here.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Neymar Riptide.
I think Riptide has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
