Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rick Sampson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clem Vogt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sampson comes into the arena with "Off the Chain" by Serg Salinas blaring out of the sound system. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rick Sampson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Clem Vogt! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vogt scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Sampson looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Sampson trying to control but Vogt postures up.
Sampson's coaches at Cozad MMA Los Angeles have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position. Vogt trying to mount his opponent but Sampson defends it. Vogt trying to control the pace. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vogt's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vogt thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Vogt wants to stand up but Sampson has a hold of him and won't allow it. Vogt trying to control the pace.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Sampson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Vogt fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Sampson to the ground. Vogt is now in Sampson's guard. Vogt is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Vogt wants to pass the guard but Sampson is keeping the position. Sampson is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Sampson wants to sweep here but Vogt controlling him for the moment. Sampson keeping full guard, as Vogt tries to pass. Sampson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Vogt throws a big right hand that misses. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Sampson looking for a sweep. Not yet Sampson, not yet. Sampson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Vogt darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Sampson wants to control but Vogt is keeping busy.
Vogt content to control rather than advance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sampson is looking for a sweep. Vogt is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Vogt looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
We've been informed that Vogt has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Vogt not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Sampson wants to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Vogt is working for a kimura but Sampson is defending it quite comfortably.
Vogt with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Vogt scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Vogt trying to mount his opponent but Sampson defends it. Vogt looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Clem Vogt dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Vogt drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vogt is staying tight to Sampson's torso, preventing him from escaping. Vogt working away. Vogt throwing shots but missing, from side control. You can see the frustration on Sampson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Vogt is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Sampson will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Vogt tries to advance to mount but Sampson denies him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sampson is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Sampson can't do much from the bottom here. Sampson defending against the ground and pound. Vogt looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Sampson being controlled for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Sampson tries to bench press Vogt off him but Vogt keeps the position. Vogt tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Vogt throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Sampson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Vogt is in Sampson's guard. Vogt slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Vogt is continuing to stall. Clem Vogt has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vogt wants to get up but he can't break Sampson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Vogt throwing strikes but missing. Sampson keeping full guard, as Vogt tries to pass. Sampson controls Vogt momentarily but Vogt frees himself. Vogt postures up in Sampson's guard and throws a big left but Sampson blocks it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Vogt keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Vogt takes the fight into the clinch. Vogt is looking for a takedown. Vogt jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sampson walks away with a smile on his face. Vogt gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Vogt defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Sampson. Vogt pushes Sampson up against the cage in a clinch. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Vogt fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Rick Sampson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Clem Vogt. Vogt is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Sampson to keep the fight standing. Vogt drags the fight down to the ground.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Clem Vogt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Sampson tries to keep at a distance but Vogt has taken the fight into the clinch. Vogt jumps guard but Sampson turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Vogt tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Sampson avoids it. Vogt is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Sampson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Vogt tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sampson paws at him with a jab and circles away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sampson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Vogt to score an easy takedown into full guard. Vogt is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vogt tries to free his leg and advance position but Sampson is retaining full guard. Vogt sitting in guard, not really doing much. Sampson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Vogt postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Vogt postures up.
Vogt stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sampson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Vogt drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vogt fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Sampson is looking for a sweep. Vogt tries to advance to mount but can't. Vogt tries to stand but Sampson is controlling his head. Vogt is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sampson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sampson wants to control but Vogt postures up. Clem Vogt is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Vogt controlling the position. Sampson is looking to regain half guard here but Vogt keeps moving and retains side control. Vogt moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Vogt shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Vogt seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Vogt not landing any meaningful shots this time. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Vogt is thwarting Sampson's attempts to control the position.
