Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Hoop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Baba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, John Hoop! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Baba! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hoop misses with a body kick. Hoop displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Baba. Hoop lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Hoop cracks Baba with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
It looks like George Baba has been cut. Hoop swats away the attempt to clinch by Baba. Hoop swats away the attempt to clinch by Baba. Hoop misses with a jab, cross combination.
Baba throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice body kick there by Hoop. Baba shoots in but Hoop avoids the takedown attempt easily. Hoop scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. That's one minute gone in the round. Baba takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Baba looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hoop is fending him off so far but Baba persists. Nope, Hoop circles away and we're back to standing. John Hoop has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Baba. Baba takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Hoop lands a body shot.
Hoop throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Baba feints the counter takedown. John Hoop seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hoop thuds his right hand into Baba's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. That kick from Baba tenderised Hoop's leg. Hoop is trying to keep his angry face on. Hoop lands an overhand right. Hoop comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Baba stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hoop. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Baba throws a leg kick which misses Hoop's front leg but catches the back leg as Hoop tries to avoid it. Hoop throws a half hearted mid kick. Hoop cracks Baba with a right hand to the side of the head.
That has opened up George Baba's cut even more. Baba shoots in looking for a takedown. Hoop tries to sprawl out of it but Baba keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hoop manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. As Baba tries to get set, Hoop tries to push him back and clinch up but Baba manages to avoid the attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hoop lands with a nice body punch. Baba uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hoop. Baba misses with a low kick as Hoop jumps back. Hoop staying out of range there. Baba dives in and scores a takedown into Hoop's guard. Baba prevents Hoop from getting back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Baba stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hoop swivels though and keeps the full guard. Baba won't allow Hoop to get back to his feet. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hoop comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Hoop jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Baba fails with a takedown attempt from distance. A left and a right from Hoop both land. Nice combination. Hoop just misses with a punch to the body.
Baba is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Baba takes the fight into the clinch. Hoop stops a takedown attempt from Baba.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Hoop.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Baba being controlled against the cage. A right hook to the body lands for Hoop.
Baba looks winded! Hoop lands with a light punch inside. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hoop lands with a short punch from the clinch.
The cut above George Baba's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Hoop with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Hoop lands a right hand that snaps the head of Baba backwards. Still in the clinch, Hoop scores with a nice short uppercut. Hoop digs a right hand underneath Baba's ribcage. Baba let out a lung full of air as it connected. Baba is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Hoop scores with a hook to the body. A nice left hand lands by Hoop.

John Hoop dominated that round. The cut man is working on George Baba's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
A head kick misses from Hoop. Hoop throws a body punch but Baba moves out of range. Hoop is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Baba can do to turn this around? Hoop with a jab. Baba displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hoop throws out the jab. A momentary lapse in concentration from Hoop enables Baba to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Hoop manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Baba throws a big elbow that misses. Baba stops Hoop from standing up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Baba pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hoop is keeping the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hoop wants to get back to his feet but Baba is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Hoop is wriggling around but Baba manages to pass to half guard.

Hoop is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Baba tries to clinch but Hoop moves out of range. Hoop swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Baba avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Baba shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hoop sprawls well. Hoop wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Baba gets slowly back to his feet.

and Hoop counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Baba gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Baba gets control of Hoop's arms and successfully pulls guard. Baba will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Hoop tries to stand but Baba is controlling from the bottom. Hoop throws an elbow that misses. Baba uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hoop's guard. Nice move by Baba! Hoop is looking to stand up but Baba isn't so interested in that idea. Baba wants to control from the top but Hoop keeps moving. Baba pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hoop is keeping the position for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hoop is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Baba slips nicely into half guard. Hoop pushes Baba off looking to stand but Baba dives back in and keeps control.
Hoop scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Baba manages to mount him!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Hoop is trying to stand back up. Baba connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Hoop to escape the position.
Hoop wants to get back to his feet. Baba has managed to slip his arm under Hoop's chin. This could be all over... yep, Hoop is tapping out! Submission win for Baba.
