Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Bobby Robson!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, William Gold and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carr keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Carr throws a quick counter kick to the body but Robson avoids it.
Robson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Carr throws out the jab.
Carr fails with a takedown attempt.
Robson throws a half hearted mid kick.
Robson tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Carr counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Robson tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Robson tries to get to full guard but Carr has control of the leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Carr really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Carr thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Robson tries a low kick but Carr avoids it.
Carr scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Robson misses with a body shot.
A little feinted left hand from Carr on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Bobby Robson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Robson drives through and clinches with Carr against the cage.
Robson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Carr manages to break the clinch.
Robson throws a head kick that misses.

Robson dives in and grabs Carr's left leg, looking for a takedown. Carr pushes down on Robson's head and hops out.

Carr gets a clinch.

Carr's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Carr connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Robson some visible discomfort.

Robson avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Carr.

Carr stands up and we're back to a striking position.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Carr pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Carr closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Robson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Carr is working away from the top position though.

Carr decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Carr gets to his feet. Robson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Robson misses with a two punch combination.
Robson tries to clinch but Carr moves out of range.

Robson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Carr on his heels. He'll look to pass Carr's guard now, I'm sure.

Carr has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Carr has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Carr is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Carr seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Carr fails in his attempt to clinch.

Robson feints and as Carr raises his hands in defense, Robson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Carr wriggles free and stands up.
Robson tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Carr wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Robson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Robson is looking to clinch but Carr is avoiding it.

Carr rushes Robson and presses him up against the cage.

Carr jumps guard.
Robson wants to stand but Carr is controlling his posture from full guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Carr holds on and takes a little breather.

Robson trying to control but Carr is working from the bottom.
Robson won't allow Carr to get back to his feet.
Carr pulls Robson in close to prevent any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Robson takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Robson takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Carr takes the fight into the clinch.
Robson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Genaro Carr will probably get the nod.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Carr is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Robson can do to turn this around?

Carr tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Robson was well out of range. Poor timing from Carr.

Carr wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Carr is looking to clinch.
Genaro Carr is winning the standup battle so far.
Nice takedown defense from Carr. No joy for Robson on that attempt.
Robson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Carr appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Carr will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Robson enables Carr to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Robson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Carr has closed the distance and engaged Robson in a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Carr takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Carr keeps control of Robson as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Carr scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Carr stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Carr is defended easily by Robson.

Carr shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Robson is trying to defend but Carr finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
