Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Duke Richard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones has chosen Face in the Sand as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
19 - 22 - 0, fighting out of London, Duke Richard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
31 - 18 - 2, fighting out of Hilo, Fred Jones! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Richard sprawls well. Richard wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jones gets slowly back to his feet. Richard went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. No luck for Jones with that takedown attempt. Richard is looking for a counter combo. Jones closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Richard's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Richard is on top in guard.
Jones is looking to stand up but Richard isn't so interested in that idea. Jones looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Richard gets to his feet - Jones follows without any prompting. Jones shoots for a double leg takedown but Richard sprawls well. He's pushed Jones's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Duke Richard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fred Jones. Jones gets a takedown into half guard. Jones is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Jones is looking for a kimura here.

Not this time though. Richard seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Fred Jones is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Jones trying to control but Richard is working from the bottom.
