Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lou Hole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arnolf Karstark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hole comes to the cage accompanied by Tunnel Vision / Tokyo Police Club. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lou Hole!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Arnolf Karstark!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Dirk Anderson and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hole clinches up against the cage.
Hole has Karstark pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Karstark manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Karstark has clasped his hands together around Hole's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Hole regains half guard, as Karstark was trying to land strikes.
Karstark sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Hole defending well though.
Karstark looks to land a strike but Hole avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Karstark would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Hole keeping moving, preventing Karstark from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hole is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Karstark defends well.

Karstark slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Karstark distracts Hole with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Karstark working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Karstark controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Hole throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Hole definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Karstark's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Karstark is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Karstark wants to pass the guard but Hole is keeping the position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Karstark accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Karstark takes a swing at Hole's ribcage but misses.
Hole shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Karstark eats them both and turns towards Hole to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Hole is looking to clinch.
Karstark misses with a hook
and Hole cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A big right from Karstark misses.
Karstark throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hole shoots in and drives through. Karstark sprawls well.
Karstark avoids the body shot from Hole.
Hole misses with a body shot.
Karstark looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Karstark looks to land a left hand but Hole moved out of range nicely.
Hole closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Hole moves away from the strike by Karstark.
Karstark connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Lou Hole seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Karstark lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hole circles away quickly and effectively.

Hole tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Karstark swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hole lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Some wild striking there from Hole.
Karstark misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hole uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Karstark.
Karstark uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hole.
Karstark lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Karstark showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hole.
Karstark looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Hole connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Hole fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lou Hole. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hole throws an overhand right that lands on Karstark's shoulder, as Karstark tries to avoid the shot.
Hole is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Arnolf Karstark will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!

Karstark paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Hole darts in and clinches Karstark up against the cage.
Hole tries a body shot but Karstark blocks it.
Hole swings wildly with an uppercut but Karstark uses good head movement to avoid it.
Karstark blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Hole has Karstark pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Karstark manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Hole has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Karstark clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Hole working for a choke but Karstark is defending well.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Hole has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Karstark has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Karstark rolls, trying to escape but Hole keeps control of the position.
Karstark keeps trying to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Karstark covering up well under a barage of strikes.
Hole trying to control momentarily.
Hole is not going to allow Karstark to sit and survive in this position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hole has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

Karstark is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Karstark is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Hole gets his way!
Karstark really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hole. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Even with his hooks in, Hole manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Karstark tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Hole moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Karstark has worked his arm free - good work by Karstark!
Hole cracks Karstark with a big right hand but Karstark just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Hole wants to control but Karstark is keeping him busy.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Karstark manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Hole missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Hole decides to stand up.
Hole cracks Karstark with a good jab.
Hole lands a jab.
Arnolf Karstark is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Karstark looks to land a left hand but Hole moved out of range nicely.
A cross from Hole lands.
Hole blocks a jab.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hole lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Karstark swats away the attempt to clinch by Hole.
Karstark throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hole sees it coming and avoids it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lou Hole dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Hole moves out of range as Karstark strikes.
It looked like Hole wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Hole is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Karstark can do to turn this around?

Hole throws out a loose jab but Karstark uses good head movement to avoid it.
Hole lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Karstark at a distance.

Hole takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Karstark moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Karstark misses with an uppercut. Hole saw that one coming.

Hole has taken the fight to the clinch.
Hole lands a right hand.

Hole manages to break the clinch.
Hole's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Karstark connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hole scrambles back to his feet.
Hole throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Karstark stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Karstark works over Hole's head and body with a nice combination.
Karstark throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Hole seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Karstark is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Hole closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Karstark to the mat! Karstark manages to get full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Hole staying out of range there.
Hole fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Hole throws the left hand but Karstark avoids the punch easily.
Hole looks to throw the jab but Karstark is out of range.
Hole misses with a looping left.
Karstark tries to bum rush Hole with a series of wild strikes but Hole uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Hole tries to clinch but Karstark moves out of range.
Karstark doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Karstark tests Hole's chin there with a solid looking shot.
No luck for Hole with that takedown attempt.
Karstark slips under a jab from Hole.
Hole shoots in for a double leg but Karstark sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lou Hole. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Oooh a lovely combination from Karstark sends Hole down but not out. Karstark dives into side control looking to finish.


Hole is rocked!


It looks like Lou Hole has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Karstark scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Hole is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Karstark can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
