Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, George Hagler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kane Armand!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Sano and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Hagler or perhaps it was just good defense by Armand which made him look bad.
Armand shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hagler pinned against the cage. Hagler gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Armand throws a head kick that misses.
Armand tries for a takedown but Hagler circles away easily

and Hagler counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hagler.

Armand is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Armand is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Hagler actively working from the bottom here.
Hagler wants to improve his position but Armand is controlling well.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Hagler tries to get to full guard but Armand has control of the leg.

Armand thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Armand wants to take a breather but Hagler is having none of it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Armand clinches.
Hagler tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Hagler drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Armand gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for George Hagler. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hagler manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Hagler is breathing heavily.
Armand trying to control but Hagler is working from the bottom.

Hagler has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Armand can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Hagler is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Armand is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hagler's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hagler's back!

Armand misses with punches from the back.
Armand doesn't have the hooks in and Hagler manages to turn into his guard.
Armand trying to keep a closed guard but Hagler is proving a slippery customer.

Armand looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Armand is looking for a triangle but Hagler pushes his legs off easily.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Hagler is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Armand throws an overhand right that lands on Hagler's shoulder, as Hagler tries to avoid the shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kane Armand dominated that round.
That's time! Hagler's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Armand closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Armand is working to tighten is grip on Hagler's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Hagler has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Armand is really squeezing tight and eventually Hagler passes out! Armand breaks the hold and jumps onto the ropes to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Kane Armand!
