The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, David Schapiro and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valentine feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Tates jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Valentine throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Tate has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Valentine.
Valentine with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Tate tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Valentine was well out of range. Poor timing from Tate.
Tate throws a looping overhand right but Valentine ducks down to avoid it.
Gregg Valentine seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Valentine connects with a looping right hand.
Tate is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Valentine.

Gregg Valentine has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Flint Tate.

Valentine dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Tate. That did some damage!

Tate throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Valentine throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Valentine connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Valentine lunges at Tate with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Tate's hand.
Valentine is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Tate looks to throw the jab but Valentine is out of range.
Valentine uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Tate.
Valentine wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Valentine turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Tate has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Valentine.
Tate on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Tate looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Valentine is fending him off so far but Tate persists. Nope, Valentine circles away and we're back to standing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Nice takedown defense from Valentine. No joy for Tate on that attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Valentine is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tate can do to turn this around?

Valentine's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Valentine duly obliges.
Tate is rocked!
Valentine cracks Tate with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Tate tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Valentine pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Tate is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gregg Valentine!
Gregg Valentine really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that KO Clothing logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
