Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Drew Olbo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kalam Mekhar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Olbo comes to the ring accompanied by Cant C Me. Mekhar has chosen 80 Kidz - Alt A as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Drew Olbo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kalam Mekhar!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Taro Takaoka and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mekhar fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Olbo takes a shot right to the bread basket.
A head kick misses from Olbo.
Mekhar looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Olbo kicks off Mekhar and gets to his feet.
Olbo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mekhar sprawls well initially but Olbo persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Mekhar is looking to escape.
Mekhar looking for submissions off his back.
Mekhar wants to improve his position but Olbo is controlling well.
Mekhar pushes Olbo off looking to stand but Olbo dives back in and keeps control.
Olbo is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mekhar defends it well.
Mekhar is looking to escape.

Mekhar makes his way to full guard, as Olbo worked for a kimura.
Olbo is breathing heavily.
Mekhar has control of Olbo's left arm, preventing Olbo from doing any damage.
Olbo stands and steps away. Mekhar gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Mekhar scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Mekhar wants to control but Olbo is keeping him busy.
Olbo tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Olbo is not content to let Mekhar control the position.
Mekhar stands up and beckons Olbo to his feet.

Olbo slips a jab and a cross from Mekhar.
Mekhar connects with a looping right hand.
Mekhar misses with a few strikes there.
Mekhar stalks Olbo and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Olbo's face. Olbo staggers backwards, shaken.
Kalam Mekhar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mekhar decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Olbo is in trouble now - Mekhar has advanced to mount!
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Mekhar tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mekhar has control of Olbo's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Olbo regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Olbo wants to hold on but Mekhar pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Olbo is trying to escape the mount but Mekhar keeps good control and instead manages to take Olbo's back.
Mekhar is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Olbo is in bad spot here.
Mekhar has Olbo flattened out and is raining down punches.
Mekhar is persistently looking for the submission but Olbo is defending it well.
Mekhar controls the position.
Mekhar struggling to land strikes to the head as Olbo covers up.
Olbo is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Mekhar gets his way!

Mekhar thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
Olbo wants to control his opponent's hands but Mekhar gets his hands free.
Mekhar punches the canvas rather than the man.
Mekhar is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Olbo taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Mekhar.
