Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dj Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sanchez's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, WALK BY PANTERA. Dj Sanchez could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to David James's chin.

15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David James! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! James fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Sanchez to the ground. James is now in Sanchez's guard. Sanchez utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Sanchez looking to control.
Sanchez has his foot on James's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. James works his way back into a safe position though. My spies in Soul Supremacy - UK inform me that James has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Sanchez trying to control the position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sanchez is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Sanchez keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully. Sanchez has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sanchez is trying to control the position but James postures up. Sanchez is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and James defends well. James is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. James trying to control the position from guard on top but Sanchez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Sanchez controls James momentarily but James frees himself.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. A momentary lapse in concentration from Sanchez enables James to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sanchez manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. James must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. James throws a strike but Sanchez rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Sanchez tries to free his leg and advance position but James is retaining full guard. James looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Sanchez passes into side control.
Sanchez is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but James is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Sanchez works to advance to full mount. James defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. James is in all sorts of trouble here.

Sanchez wants to control the pace but James is squirming around nicely. Sanchez wants to take his opponent's back but James doesn't allow it. James tries to lock up and control but Sanchez gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. James is desperately trying to improve his position but Sanchez has a good base and remains in mount. Sanchez works his way to his opponent's back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. James just trying to survive but Sanchez is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. You can see the frustration on James's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

That was a close round but I would say that Dj Sanchez will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
James decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Sanchez wants to get back to full guard. James wants to take a breather but Sanchez is having none of it. David James has got the better of the ground game so far. Nice strikes from James there. James seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Sanchez has recovered full guard. James looking to sit in guard and control but Sanchez gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

James stacks Sanchez on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by James! Sanchez is positioning himself to get back to half guard. You can see the frustration on Sanchez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. James working the head with strikes.

Sanchez tries to land a sweep but no joy. Sanchez keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! James postures up in Sanchez's guard and throws a big left but Sanchez blocks it.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
David James showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dj Sanchez. I think Sanchez has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
