Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between misu edy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucifer Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
edy stuffs the takedown.
edy keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
edy misses with a head kick.
Maia scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Maia is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
edy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Maia on the ground.

edy stands and steps away. Maia gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

misu edy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lucifer Maia.

edy seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
edy seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Maia does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maia tries to get back to half guard but can't.

misu edy dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
edy feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Maia has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. edy is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Maia.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Maia is breathing heavily.
edy wants to control but Maia is keeping him busy.

Maia tries to buck edy off but edy is having none of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
edy decides to take the fight back to the feet.
edy lands a body shot.
edy shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Maia looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

edy is pressing down on Maia's thigh, looking to free his foot. Maia is holding on for now.

edy decides to return to a standing position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
edy closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - edy lands in his opponent's guard.
Maia has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but edy can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Maia tries to land a sweep but no joy.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

edy cracks Maia with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
edy is in the full mount, landing strikes.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Maia is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. edy locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Maia is forced to tap!
