Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Adam Morley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabryel Catchmaer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gabryel Catchmaer! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Bruno Lombardi and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Catchmaer punishes Morley's body with a nice straight punch. Catchmaer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Morley tries to score a power double leg takedown but Catchmaer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Morley somewhat. Catchmaer defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Morley. Nice defenses there by Morley. Morley fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adam Morley. That's going to take a lot out of him. Morley tries for a takedown but Catchmaer sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Morley misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Gabryel Catchmaer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Catchmaer fails in his attempt to clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Catchmaer jabs at Morley's body. That's two minutes gone in the round. Morley looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Catchmaer thuds his right hand into Morley's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Catchmaer throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Catchmaer has managed to clinch.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Catchmaer creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! With the fighters up against the cage, Catchmaer throws an elbow but misses. Morley avoids the elbow strike from Catchmaer, against the cage.

Morley avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Catchmaer tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Morley was well out of range. Poor timing from Catchmaer. Morley tries to counter with a takedown but Catchmaer is quick to defend against it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Catchmaer swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Morley looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Morley not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Catchmaer is looking for a sweep. Morley is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Catchmaer trying to control here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Catchmaer keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Morley looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Catchmaer with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Morley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Catchmaer on the ground. Morley drops an elbow to the side of Catchmaer's head. Catchmaer gets full guard. Morley content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Morley lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Catchmaer has his foot on Morley's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Morley works his way back into a safe position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Catchmaer is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Morley is controlling him. Morley postures up and lands a big shot to Catchmaer's brow. Catchmaer has his feet on Morley's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Morley takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Morley dives in for a single leg takedown but Catchmaer sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Morley dives in and grabs Catchmaer's left leg, looking for a takedown. Catchmaer pushes down on Morley's head and hops out. Morley keeps the fight on the outside. Morley shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Morley not landing any meaningful shots this time. Morley stops Catchmaer from getting back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Catchmaer tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Morley misses with a looping left. Morley dives in and grabs Catchmaer's left leg, looking for a takedown. Catchmaer pushes down on Morley's head and hops out. A lazy left from Catchmaer finds it's target. Catchmaer throws a hook but Morley avoids it easily. Catchmaer tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Catchmaer misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Gabryel Catchmaer seems to be getting the better of the standup. Morley shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Catchmaer's guard. Morley throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Catchmaer lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Catchmaer forces his way into half guard. Morley has hold of Catchmaer's hands but Catchmaer slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Catchmaer wants to take a breather but Morley is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Catchmaer is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Morley doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Catchmaer. Catchmaer winds up and cracks Morley with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Catchmaer prevents Morley from standing back up.
Catchmaer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Morley keeps working. Catchmaer throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Catchmaer trying to control from half guard but Morley is working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Catchmaer stands up out of the half guard. Morley doesn't succeed with the takedown enabling Catchmaer to counter with a crisp jab. Morley is trying hard to land a takedown here. Catchmaer sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Adam Morley. That's going to take a lot out of him. Catchmaer throws a hook to the side of Morley's head but Morley sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Morley manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Catchmaer on his heels. He'll look to pass Catchmaer's guard now, I'm sure. Catchmaer is trying to control the position but Morley postures up. Morley trying to control but Catchmaer is working from the bottom. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Catchmaer. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Morley working some strikes from top position. Adam Morley overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Catchmaer will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Morley accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Catchmaer wants to stand up but Morley is controlling him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Catchmaer manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Morley manages to get himself to full guard.

Morley swivels though and keeps the full guard. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Catchmaer working his ground and pound in the gym. Morley wants to stand and escape but Catchmaer is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Morley utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Catchmaer stopping the sweep attempt from Morley.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Morley changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Catchmaer tries to avoid it but Morley manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Catchmaer to the ground. Catchmaer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A jab from Catchmaer misses. Catchmaer has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Morley shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Catchmaer missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Catchmaer distracts Morley with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Morley keeping moving, preventing Catchmaer from controlling successfully. Catchmaer content to stall in guard here. Catchmaer postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Catchmaer gets to his feet - Morley follows without any prompting. Morley with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Catchmaer to score with a decent uppercut.
