Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Its Ono (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Clawnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clawnes has chosen My name is MUD as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Its Ono!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Thomas Clawnes!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ono feints and then cracks Clawnes's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Clawnes down.
Clawnes throws a sloppy head kick and Ono moves out of range easily.
Clawnes moves in looking to clinch but Ono pushes him off.

Ono steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Clawnes.

Ono pushes Clawnes up against the cage in a clinch.
Clawnes throws a punch but it's blocked by Ono.
Clawnes pushes off an throws an elbow but Ono leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Ono tries to stall but Clawnes uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Ono avoids a wild elbow strike from Clawnes.
Ono blocks a punch to the side of the head.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Clawnes just misses with a elbow thrown towards Ono's brow.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Clawnes tries to work over Ono's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Clawnes swings wildly with an uppercut but Ono uses good head movement to avoid it.

Clawnes fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ono manages to avoid it.

Clawnes lands a nice leg kick that just misses Ono's sensitive parts.

Clawnes has closed the distance and engaged Ono in a clinch.

Ono breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Clawnes throws a big shot that misses.
Ono attempts a counter takedown but Clawnes avoids it well and moves away.
Clawnes walks into a jab.
Ono comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Clawnes uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Ono has time to react.

Clawnes clinches up against the cage.
Clawnes lands an elbow that stopped Ono in his tracks for a moment.
Clawnes misses with the head strike.
Clawnes has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ono avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Its Ono has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thomas Clawnes.

Clawnes creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Ono lands a hook to the side of the head.
Ono drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Clawnes gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Clawnes misses with a hook from the clinch.

Ono turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Ono is staying tight to Clawnes's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Ono wants to control but Clawnes is keeping him busy.

Clawnes manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Ono tries to roll over but Clawnes keeps him under control.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Ono got a little sloppy there for a moment and Clawnes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ono has managed to get both his arms back between Clawnes's legs - danger averted.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Its Ono overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Clawnes working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Clawnes passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Clawnes drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ono manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Clawnes has Ono in his guard.

Well Clawnes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
