Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dexter Berg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Issei Hyoudou!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hyoudou darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Hyoudou looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Berg trying to control here.
Hyoudou prevents Berg from improving his position.
Berg wants to control but Hyoudou is keeping busy.
Hyoudou is controlling the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hyoudou trying to pass the guard but Berg defending well.
Hyoudou is nestled in close to Berg, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Berg is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hyoudou is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Hyoudou passes the guard and advances to mount!
Hyoudou tries to control but Berg wriggling away.
Berg really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Berg regains half guard.
Hyoudou lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Berg quite badly. Berg pulls Hyoudou in close trying to recover. Hyoudou postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Berg on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Berg doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Issei Hyoudou!
A relieved looking Issei Hyoudou thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
