Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Judo Jim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John McEnroe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John McEnroe is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Judo Jim! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John McEnroe! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, David Hoff and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jim is looking to clinch. Jim gets cracked with a nice right hand there by McEnroe. A clash of legs there as Jim blocks the low kick. Jim throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. McEnroe connects with a right hand. Jim shakes it off. Jim slips a jab from McEnroe. A lazy left from McEnroe finds it's target. Jim misses with a double jab.
McEnroe goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Jim shoots in and drives through. McEnroe sprawls well. Jim wants to clinch up but McEnroe keeps it at a distance. McEnroe digs a good hook to Jim's body.
Jim shoots in looking for a takedown. McEnroe tries to sprawl out of it but Jim keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McEnroe manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Jim misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
McEnroe connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
That's one minute gone in the round. A right-left combo lands from Jim. John McEnroe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Nice cross by McEnroe. Jim fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Judo Jim. That's going to take a lot out of him. McEnroe works the jab nicely. McEnroe ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jim moves away. McEnroe looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. McEnroe lands a nice hook to Jim's body. Jim takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. McEnroe misses with a looping right. Jim slips under a jab from McEnroe. Jim fails with a takedown attempt. Jim ducks right into an uppercut from McEnroe.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McEnroe throws a hook to the side of Jim's head but Jim sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. McEnroe getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McEnroe works Jim's body with a nice hook. McEnroe lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. McEnroe thuds a left hand into Jim's body. Jim takes one to the chin there. Jim ducks right into an uppercut from McEnroe. McEnroe scores with a hook. Jim avoids a lazy jab quite easily. McEnroe keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
McEnroe fails to land with a series of punches.
John McEnroe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McEnroe defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jim. McEnroe throws a body shot but no joy. A punch combination from McEnroe misses. Jim throwing a counter right hand but McEnroe manages to avoid it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jim shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McEnroe sprawls well. McEnroe wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jim gets slowly back to his feet. Jim steps to the side to avoid the strikes from McEnroe. Nice defenses there by Jim. Jim avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Jim shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McEnroe pinned against the cage. McEnroe gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. McEnroe swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. McEnroe scores with a shot to the body.
McEnroe tries to work over Jim's front leg with a kick but Jim checks it. McEnroe throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Jim stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. McEnroe moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A leg kick checked by McEnroe. McEnroe is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Jim had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. McEnroe throws a hook to the side of Jim's head but Jim sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. McEnroe throws out a loose jab but Jim uses good head movement to avoid it. A looping hook to the body misses from McEnroe. Jim does a little dance to reset his feet. Jim walks into a stiff left hand from McEnroe. McEnroe lands a body shot.
Jim with a lazy takedown attempt and McEnroe counters with a straight right hand. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. McEnroe scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Jim shoots in looking for a takedown. McEnroe tries to sprawl out of it but Jim keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McEnroe manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Jim has his takedown stuffed and McEnroe counters with a lovely shot to the body. McEnroe lands a two punch combo.
McEnroe lands the left hand.
Jim is rocked! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John McEnroe dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
McEnroe takes a swing at Jim's ribcage but misses. We are yet to see a takedown attempt from McEnroe in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. Jim closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. McEnroe did well to prevent Jim getting side control. McEnroe is pressing down on Jim's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. McEnroe keeping moving, preventing Jim from controlling successfully. Jim sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed McEnroe's guard. Jim trying to mount his opponent but McEnroe defends it. McEnroe has been the more effective fighter overall so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McEnroe is looking to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. McEnroe kicks off Jim and gets to his feet. Judo Jim is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. A big left from McEnroe misses. Jim is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Jim catches McEnroe with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Jim ducks under a wild hook from McEnroe. It looked like Jim was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from McEnroe. Jim moves forwards but McEnroe connects with a nice, crisp jab. Jim throws a low kick but it's checked well by McEnroe. Jim fails to land the takedown. McEnroe defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jim. McEnroe throws a lazy right hand but Jim sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Jim tries to clinch there but McEnroe circles away.
A jab from McEnroe finds it's way through Jim's defenses. McEnroe looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. McEnroe throws a body shot but no joy. Jim appears to be looking for a big counter.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jim shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McEnroe as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Judo Jim. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jim moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Jim gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and McEnroe counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. McEnroe lands a nice shot to the body.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jim shoots in but doesn't get the takedown enabling McEnroe to counter with a crisp jab. Jim looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Jim dives in and grabs McEnroe's left leg, looking for a takedown. McEnroe pushes down on Jim's head and hops out. McEnroe scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Jim shoots in for a takedown but McEnroe shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. McEnroe digs a good hook to Jim's body.
Jim takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice shot by McEnroe. Oh Jim is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! McEnroe connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Jim! He's out on his feet! McEnroe rushes in and drops Jim with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). John McEnroe! A relieved looking John McEnroe thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
