Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kev Bel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wei Sung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sung is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Last Day. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kev Bel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Wei Sung!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sung misses with a takedown attempt - Bel sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Sung checks a leg kick.
Sung ducks under a wild hook from Bel.
Sung stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Bel.

Sung decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Sung is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Sung tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bel knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sung is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bel defends it well.

Bel wants to get back to his feet.
Sung not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Bel is refusing to be controlled, as Sung sits in half guard.

Sung wants to take a breather but Bel is having none of it.
Sung has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Sung throws a strike but Bel avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Sung forces his way into half guard.
Sung with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Sung seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bel does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Well, if Sung is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Bel will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Sung should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Bel misses with a low kick.
Bel throws a solid leg kick but Sung takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Bel.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Sung! But no joy.
Bel wants to slow Sung down by chopping away at his legs.
Sung now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Bel shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Kev Bel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bel misses with a leg kick.
Sung fails with a takedown attempt.
Bel keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Kev Bel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wei Sung.

Sung looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Bel throws a leg kick which misses Sung's front leg but catches the back leg as Sung tries to avoid it.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Bel, right into the meat.

and Sung counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Bel thinking.
Horrible takedown attempt by Sung or perhaps it was just good defense by Bel, which made it look bad.
Bel fires out a quick counter leg kick but Sung just manages to avoid it.

Bel tries to work over Sung's front leg with a kick but Sung checks it.

Bel pivots, looking for a leg kick but Sung is out of range and Bel settles back down.
Bel throws a leg kick that misses.
As Bel backs off Sung throws a huge counter combo but Bel manages to avoid it all.
Sung misses with a takedown attempt - Bel sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Bel motions for Sung to come forward. Bel throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Bel wants to slow Sung down by chopping away at his legs.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bel connects with a leg kick. Sung looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

and Sung counters with a left and a right that stings Bel.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bel throws a jab when Sung was well out of range.
Bel throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Sung tries to counter with a clinch but Bel shakes him off and moves away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kev Bel will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Kev Bel's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Bel throws out a leg kick but Sung moves out of range and Bel only half commits.
Bel does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Bel tries to score with a low kick but Sung moves his leg out of the way.

Sung changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bel looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Sung decides to stand back up. Sung steps back and let's Bel get back to his feet.
Bel stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bel wants it to stay on the feet.
Sung tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bel paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sung shoots in for a takedown but Bel shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Bel connects with an inside leg kick.
Bel scoring well with a low kick there.
Sung checks the leg kick nicely there.
Sung changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bel tries to avoid it but Sung manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bel to the ground. Bel escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kev Bel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wei Sung.
Bel throws the left hand but Sung avoids the punch easily.
Sung's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Sung closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bel to the mat! Bel manages to get full guard.
Sung wants to pass the guard but Bel is keeping the position.
Bel is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sung is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sung is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Bel utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Bel wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Sung manages to pass to side control.

Sung wants to free his trapped foot but Bel is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Sung is looking to take a break and control but Bel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bel tries to kick Sung off but Sung keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Sung is looking to stall here but Bel recovers full guard.
Bel is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sung is controlling him.

Sung thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Bel wants to stand up but Sung is controlling him.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sung is defended easily by Bel.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Sung checks a leg kick.
Sung blocks a low kick nicely.
Sung changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bel tries to avoid it but Sung manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bel to the ground. Bel escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bel moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Bel swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Bel sets himself, and Sung steps forward looking for the clinch! Bel avoids it this time.
Bel finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Wei Sung is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bel throws a low kick but it's checked well by Sung.
Sung shoots in but Bel avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Bel tries to work over Sung's front leg with a kick but Sung checks it.
Sung checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Sung is looking for the big counter here.

Bel is trying to push Sung away but Sung has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Bel breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Sung scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Bel knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sung on the ground.
Bel wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Sung decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Bel lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Sung has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Sung and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Bel motions for Sung to come forward. Bel throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Bel buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Bel lands a lovely overhand right.

Sung shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bel pinned against the cage. Bel gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Sung fails with a takedown attempt.
Sung takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Bel tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Sung moves in looking to clinch but Bel pushes him off.
Sung keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Sung darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Sung is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bel is just riding it out for now. Sung eventually gives up the hold.

Sung stops Bel from getting back to his feet.
Sung trying to control the pace.
Sung uses his free foot to push down on Bel's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bel.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sung landing strikes, looking to finish!
Bel is squirming around, avoiding Sung's attempts to control the action.
Sung throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Bel because Sung loaded up on that one.
Bel is trying to stand but he's just given Sung his back.
Bel has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Sung.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Sung is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Bel has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Sung has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Bel taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Sung doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Wei Sung!
A very excited looking Wei Sung made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
