Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Neymar Riptide! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Benito Juarez! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Luis Engracia and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riptide drives through with a takedown into guard. Riptide sitting in guard here, content to control. Juarez is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Riptide content to stall in guard here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Juarez throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Riptide escapes and throws Juarez's legs to the side, diving into side control! Juarez tries to bench press Riptide off him but Riptide keeps the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee asks Riptide politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Riptide prefers to stall for the moment though. Riptide has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Juarez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Riptide manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Juarez throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Benito Juarez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A head kick misses from Juarez. Juarez tries a head kick but it misses.
Riptide takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Riptide closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Riptide lands in his opponent's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Riptide trying to control the position from guard on top but Juarez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Juarez should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Riptide thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Juarez looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Riptide will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Juarez trying to control the position.
Riptide wants to control from the top but Juarez keeps moving. Juarez being controlled here, momentarily. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Riptide trying to control the position but Juarez is working away. Juarez tries to buck Riptide off but Riptide is having none of it. Riptide decides to stand up, so the ref orders Juarez to his feet. Riptide really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Riptide clinches up with Juarez and pushes him back against the cage. Juarez tries to break free but Riptide pushes him back against the cage. A frustrated look appears on Juarez's face as he tries to break the clinch. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Juarez wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Riptide has him pressed against the cage. Juarez managing to block the knees to the body from Riptide.
Juarez is trying to pull guard but Riptide turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Juarez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Riptide doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Riptide manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Riptide postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Juarez looking for a guillotine here but Riptide defends easily.

Riptide fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Juarez sprawls well initially but Riptide persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Riptide prevents Juarez from improving his position. Juarez is refusing to be controlled, as Riptide sits in half guard. Juarez looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Juarez tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Riptide paws at him with a jab and circles away. Juarez moves in looking to clinch but Riptide pushes him off. Juarez throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Riptide counters by moving into the clinch. Riptide gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Juarez regains guard.

No, Riptide has managed to get both his arms back between Juarez's legs - danger averted. Riptide stands up from Juarez's guard - Riptide perhaps looking for a knockout. Riptide avoids the head kick by Juarez.
Benito Juarez seems to be getting the better of the standup. Juarez throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Riptide decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. Riptide stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Juarez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neymar Riptide overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Riptide not doing a lot at the moment. And that's the end of the fight! Neymar Riptide showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Riptide, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
