The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Mcguire. Karlsefni shrugs it off though.

Karlsefni clinches up with Mcguire and pushes him back against the cage.
Karlsefni blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Mcguire manages to break the clinch.
Mcguire misses with a hook. Karlsefni ducked under it nicely.
Karlsefni tries to counter by closing the distance.
Mcguire really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Karlsefni has closed the distance and engaged Mcguire in a clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mcguire wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Mcguire knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Karlsefni on the ground.

Karlsefni stands and throws Mcguire's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Karlsefni wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mcguire, who protects the arm well.

Karlsefni is working to tighten his grip on Mcguire's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Mcguire has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Karlsefni is really squeezing tight and eventually Mcguire passes out! Karlsefni breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
