Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ernesto Guevara! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chuck Neptune! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Roberts and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Neptune lands with a thumping leg kick.
Neptune defending well as Guevara loads up on a big left hand. Guevara takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Neptune showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Guevara.
Neptune bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Neptune was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. Guevara swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Neptune lands a high kick!
Guevara keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
It looks like Chuck Neptune has been cut. Guevara checks a low kick from Neptune. We've been told by Guevara's head coaches at The Axis of Evil that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Guevara throws a lazy uppercut
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Neptune lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Guevara takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Guevara swings for the body but Neptune moves out of range.
Guevara looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Neptune is fending him off so far but Guevara persists. Nope, Neptune circles away and we're back to standing. Guevara on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Neptune fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Guevara takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Neptune lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
That's one minute gone in the round. Neptune misses with a takedown attempt - Guevara sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Neptune plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Guevara tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Neptune was well out of range. Poor timing from Guevara. Neptune and Guevara are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Neptune throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Guevara into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Neptune knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Chuck Neptune! Ernesto Guevara was interviewed post fight and said 'Dam you Yankee Dogs'.
