Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Honda Tadakatsu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Stumpy Johnson! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Sam Margolis and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tadakatsu with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Tadakatsu getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Tadakatsu connects with an inside leg kick. Tadakatsu buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Tadakatsu thumps Johnson with a low kick. Tadakatsu lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Tadakatsu misses with an uppercut. Johnson saw that one coming. We've been told by Tadakatsu's head coaches at Tycoon Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Johnson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tadakatsu looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Johnson is looking to take a break and control but Tadakatsu is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Johnson is staying tight to Tadakatsu's torso, preventing him from escaping. Johnson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Tadakatsu is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Tadakatsu manages to get back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tadakatsu is trying to get back to full guard. Tadakatsu has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Johnson is working away from the top position though. Johnson is taking a breather. Tadakatsu says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Johnson is trying to control. Tadakatsu wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Tadakatsu wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Johnson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Tadakatsu is just riding it out for now. Johnson eventually gives up the hold. Johnson with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Tadakatsu is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tadakatsu misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Tadakatsu throws a quick inside leg kick. Tadakatsu fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Johnson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Honda Tadakatsu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. No luck for Johnson with that takedown attempt. Tadakatsu lands with a thumping leg kick.

Johnson changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. A slapping body kick lands there for Tadakatsu. A combination from Tadakatsu does no damage. Tadakatsu lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Tadakatsu paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Johnson blocks a head kick by Tadakatsu.
Johnson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Tadakatsu was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Tadakatsu goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Tadakatsu lands an overhand right. Johnson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Johnson showed some decent athleticism there. Tadakatsu tries to roll over but Johnson keeps him under control. Tadakatsu looking for submissions off his back. Johnson slows the pace down in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Honda Tadakatsu dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Johnson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Johnson blocks a head kick by Tadakatsu.
Tadakatsu keeps Johnson at a distance using the push kick. Johnson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Tadakatsu. Johnson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Tadakatsu circles away. A head kick misses from Johnson. Tadakatsu throws a one two combo.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Johnson is defended easily by Tadakatsu. Tadakatsu throws a counter high kick but Johnson was just alert enough to avoid it. Tadakatsu lunges at Johnson with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Johnson's hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A nice inside leg kick there by Tadakatsu. That's going to slow Johnson down. Tadakatsu lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tadakatsu throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Tadakatsu throws a sloppy head kick and Johnson moves out of range easily. Tadakatsu dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Johnson. That did some damage! Johnson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Johnson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Tadakatsu is looking to counter punch. Tadakatsu fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Johnson. Tadakatsu misses with a hook. Johnson ducked under it nicely. Tadakatsu swinging wildly here.
Johnson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Johnson lands in his opponent's guard. Johnson controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Tadakatsu wants to sweep but no luck. Tadakatsu is trying to keep Johnson in close.
Johnson working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Johnson looking to sit in guard and control but Tadakatsu gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Johnson looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Tadakatsu avoids the strikes from the bottom by Johnson. Johnson holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage. Johnson is looking for a sweep. Tadakatsu wants to control but Johnson is keeping him busy. Tadakatsu is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Johnson can do to turn this around?

Tadakatsu trying to control the position but Johnson is working away. The referee asks Tadakatsu politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Tadakatsu prefers to stall for the moment though. Tadakatsu goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Johnson rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Tadakatsu's guard! Nice work there by Johnson! Tadakatsu keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully. Tadakatsu throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Tadakatsu looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Johnson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Honda Tadakatsu dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Tadakatsu will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Johnson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Tadakatsu throws a big counter combination but Johnson scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Honda Tadakatsu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stumpy Johnson. A good leg kick by Tadakatsu. Tadakatsu lands with a thumping leg kick.

Johnson shoots in and drives through. Tadakatsu sprawls well. Johnson gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Tadakatsu. Tadakatsu connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Johnson is looking to clinch. An inside leg kick lands from Tadakatsu. A chopping leg kick lands by Tadakatsu. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Johnson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Johnson is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Tadakatsu! Johnson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Johnson trying to control but Tadakatsu is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson blocks Tadakatsu's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Johnson landing strikes from the mount and Tadakatsu is in trouble! Johnson lands a couple of good shots and Tadakatsu has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Johnson cracks Tadakatsu with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Tadakatsu from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Tadakatsu is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Stumpy Johnson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Honda Tadakatsu is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Johnson doesn't have the hooks in and Tadakatsu manages to turn into his guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Honda Tadakatsu showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tadakatsu, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Honda Tadakatsu wins by unanimous decision! A very excited looking Honda Tadakatsu rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
