Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
14 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cedric Murphy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Badr Aerts!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aerts takes one to the chin there.
Aerts looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Murphy cracks the inside of Aerts's front leg.
Aerts tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Murphy lands with a straight right. Aerts didn't see that one coming.
Murphy lands with a kick to the ribs.
Murphy feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Aerts's calf.
Murphy feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Aerts sprawling to the canvas! Aerts rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Murphy finish him?!
It looks like Badr Aerts has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Murphy circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Aerts drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Murphy follows Aerts to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cedric Murphy!
A relieved looking Cedric Murphy thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
