Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pip Pop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Amp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pip Pop could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Michael Amp's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Pip Pop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Michael Amp!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pop walks into a straight right hand from Amp.
Amp's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Amp duly obliges.
Pop shoots in and drives through. Amp sprawls well.
As Pop backs off Amp throws a huge counter combo but Pop manages to avoid it all.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pop.
Amp dips to his left and cracks Pop with an uppercut!
Pop dives in for a single leg takedown but Amp sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
A little jabbing left from Amp on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pip Pop. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pop shoots for a double leg takedown but Amp sprawls well. He's pushed Pop's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Pop fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
A little jabbing left from Amp on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Amp has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Amp, as that shot connected.


It looks like Pip Pop has been cut.
Pop needs to keep his hands up - Amp had a free shot at his head there.
Pop shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Amp defends it nicely.
Pop with a lazy takedown attempt
and Amp counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Pop closes the distance and clinches up with Amp, looking for a takedown. Pop pushes Amp against the cage but Amp circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Pop looks to clinch
and Amp counters with a stiff right hand.

Pop fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Amp, pushing him back against the cage.

Amp letting Pop take a breather here.
Pop is trying to maintain a safe position but Amp gets an underhook and turns Pop into the cage.
Amp blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Amp.
Amp stops a takedown attempt from Pop.
Amp stalling the fight.
Pop is trying to pull guard but Amp turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Amp scores with a shoulder strike.
Amp lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Amp prevents a takedown attempt there.
Amp makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Pop wants a takedown but no success here.
Good body shot from Amp.
Amp digs a right hand underneath Pop's ribcage. Pop let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Pop breaks from the clinch.
Nice takedown defense from Amp. No joy for Pop on that attempt.

Amp throws a leg kick but Pop sees it coming and moves out of range.
A jab lands there for Amp.
Good exchange - Amp coming out on top.
Pop tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Amp defends well and Pop ends up having to push Amp into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Amp stuffs the takedown.
That kick from Amp tenderised Pop's leg. Pop is trying to keep his angry face on.
Amp looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
The crowd cheers as Amp lands an impressive looking overhand right. Pop doesn't seem phased though.
Pop on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Pop shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pop wants to take a breather but Amp is having none of it.
Pop sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Amp defending well though.
Pop missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Pop is stalling here. Amp is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Pop seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Amp has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Amp tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Pop is looking to reverse the position.
Pop is working hard here to advance position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pop shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Amp is trying to defend but Pop finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Amp tries to roll over but Pop keeps him under control.
Amp is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Amp really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pop. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Pop passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Amp!

Pop can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Amp is looking to escape.
Pop prevents Amp from getting the reversal.
Pop lands a big shot there that rocks Amp but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Amp is trying desperately to improve position.
Pop misses with a head shot.
Amp tries to hold on but Pop pushes him away.

Pop is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Amp to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Amp shrugs it off.

Pop has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Pop unloads with some shots from mount but Amp bucks and avoids them well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pop throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Amp because Pop loaded up on that one.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pop lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Pop wants to control the pace but Amp is squirming around nicely.
Amp is desperately trying to improve his position but Pop has a good base and remains in mount.

Pop goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Amp is on top in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pop looking to hit a scissor sweep but Amp is one step ahead there.
Amp wants to stand but Pop has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Pop looking to hit a scissor sweep but Amp is one step ahead there.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Amp throws a lazy right hand but Pop sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Pop fails in his attempt to clinch.
Amp lands with a thumping leg kick.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pop doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Amp counters with a lovely straight right hand!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pip Pop dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Pip Pop's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Pop changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Amp tries to avoid it but Pop manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Amp to the ground. Amp escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Nice body punch from Amp.
Pop is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Pop tries to clinch there but Amp circles away.
Amp has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Pop fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A punch lands to the side of Pop 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Amp throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pop sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Pop is defended easily by Amp.
Despite the aggression on Amp's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Pop fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Amp avoids it really well and circles away.
Good standup being displayed there by Amp as he connects with a hook.

and Amp counters with a nice low kick that buckles Pop's knee momentarily.
Pop looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Pop shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Pop throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Amp lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Pop fails to land the takedown.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Pop.
Pop gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Pop shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Amp counters with a nice body shot.

And that's the end of the fight!
Michael Amp comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Amp has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
