Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Moreno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Castinglioni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Antonio Castinglioni has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jay Moreno!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Antonio Castinglioni!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Ben Watson and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moreno shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Castinglioni sprawls well. Castinglioni wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Moreno gets slowly back to his feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Moreno.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Castinglioni misses with a head kick.
Moreno wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Moreno attempts a counter takedown but Castinglioni avoids it well and moves away.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Moreno pushes Castinglioni up against the cage in a clinch.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Moreno really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Moreno is trying to control the position but Castinglioni postures up.

Moreno lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Antonio Castinglioni dominated that round.
That's time! Moreno's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Castinglioni tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
We've been informed that Castinglioni has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Moreno tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Castinglioni defends well and Moreno ends up having to push Castinglioni into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Castinglioni let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

and Moreno decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Castinglioni's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Moreno drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Moreno jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Moreno wants to get up but he can't break Castinglioni's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Castinglioni is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Moreno dives into side control.
Castinglioni bucks up and tries to throw Moreno off but instead Moreno has got his back!
Castinglioni wants to get back to his feet.
Castinglioni is breathing heavily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Moreno is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Castinglioni knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Castinglioni for a finish.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Moreno keeps control of the position easily here as Castinglioni tries to buck him off.
Moreno has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Castinglioni looks to throw the jab but Moreno is out of range.
Castinglioni slaps away a takedown attempt from Moreno, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Castinglioni is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Moreno shoots for a takedown but Castinglioni saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Castinglioni raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Moreno fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Moreno breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Castinglioni pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Moreno appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Moreno shoots in looking for a takedown. Castinglioni tries to sprawl out of it but Moreno keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Castinglioni manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Castinglioni throws a wild body kick that Moreno sees coming a mile off.
Castinglioni throws a head kick but Moreno moves out of range.

Moreno drives through and clinches with Castinglioni against the cage.
Moreno tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Castinglioni just stands there and leans against the cage.
Castinglioni wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Moreno prevents Castinglioni from breaking the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Moreno jumps into guard, dragging Castinglioni to the mat.

Moreno pushes Castinglioni off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Moreno avoids the head kick by Castinglioni.
Moreno shoots for a double leg takedown but Castinglioni sprawls well. He's pushed Moreno's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A head kick misses from Castinglioni.
Moreno feinted with a counter takedown.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Castinglioni enables Moreno to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Castinglioni manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jay Moreno.
I think Moreno has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
