Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shoddy Body (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leo Katona (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shoddy Body is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Shoddy Body!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Leo Katona!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Santiago Holmes and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Body goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Katona feints the counter takedown.
Body goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Body is looking to clinch but Katona is avoiding it.
Katona throws a leg kick

and Body counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Katona flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Body is trying to work for a kimura but Katona is defending well.
Body knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Katona on the ground.
Katona is trying to control but can't.
Body throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Katona is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Katona trying to control but Body postures up.
Katona is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Body is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Katona sees it coming and defends easily.

Katona looking for submissions off his back.
Body takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Body not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Body keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Katona won't allow Body to pass to mount.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Body fakes the leg kick and cracks Katona in the body.

Katona closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Katona tries to move into full mount but can't pass Body's legs.
Katona scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Body to see if he's OK.
Katona is looking to take a break and control but Body is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Body can't do much from the bottom here.
Katona fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Katona looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Body is avoiding damage well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Body is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Body is not content to let Katona control the position.

Body is concentrating on defense, preventing Katona from advancing position.
Katona not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Katona throwing shots but Body is blocking nicely.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Body is looking to improve his position.
Katona trying to pass the guard but Body defending well.
Body is looking for a sweep. Katona is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Body trying to hold on to Katona's head to control him but Katona postures up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Body scores with a takedown into Katona's guard.
Katona keeping moving, preventing Body from controlling successfully.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Body controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Shoddy Body will probably get the nod.
That's time! Body's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Katona comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Body tries to clinch
and Katona counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Body looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Katona lands a head kick!
Katona tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Katona throws a head kick that misses.
Katona throws a left and a right that both miss

and Body decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Katona's guard.
Body trying to control but Katona is working from the bottom.
Body trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Body connects with a couple of short punches.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Katona had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Body defends it easily.

Katona can't keep his opponent in guard - Body advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Body slows the pace down in half guard.
Katona slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Body stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Katona swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Body won't allow Katona to get back to his feet.
Katona is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Katona looking to hit a scissor sweep but Body is one step ahead there.
Body trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Leo Katona is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Katona throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Body's head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Katona blocks a leg kick.
Katona swings for the body but Body moves out of range.
Katona throws a sloppy head kick and Body moves out of range easily.

Body gets caught napping as Katona dives in and scores a takedown. Body manages to retain guard.
Body bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Katona's guard.


Katona looking for subs off his back but Body has passed one foot through into half guard.
Katona is breathing heavily.

Body is looking for a kimura but Katona is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Body to get the leverage.

Body tries to pass to full mount but Katona defends it.

Body keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Body missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Body takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Body is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Katona keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Katona tries to roll over but Body keeps him under control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Leo Katona will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Body tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Body has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Body wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Katona, who protects the arm well.
Katona tries to buck Body off but Body is having none of it.
Katona takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Katona manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Katona slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Body is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Body has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Body has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Katona swinging wildly here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Body feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Body is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Shoddy Body overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Katona wants to sweep but no luck.

Katona looking for a guillotine here but Body defends easily.
Katona takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Body wants to pass the guard but Katona is keeping the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Leo Katona.
I think Katona has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
