The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Roberts and Chad Campbell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holmes takes a swing at Mohammed's ribcage but misses.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Holmes.
Mohammed avoids the head kick by Holmes.
Mohammed unleashes a big counter combination but Holmes bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Holmes fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mohammed sprawls well initially but Holmes persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Holmes is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mohammed is just riding it out for now. Holmes eventually gives up the hold.
Still in half guard, Holmes seems content to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mohammed is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Holmes pulls his head out easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Holmes is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Mohammed can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Mohammed is looking to improve his position but Holmes isn't that keen on the idea.

Holmes lands a couple of good shots and Mohammed has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

Holmes is working for a rear naked choke. Mohammed is not defending it well and Holmes has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Mohammed refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Mohammed's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
