Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kyler Maiden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kyler Maiden! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Pedro Perez! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Daniel Franklin and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perez bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Perez landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Perez is looking to take a break and control but Maiden is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Perez is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Maiden has escaped the position, nice work there. Perez wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Maiden, who protects the arm well. Maiden is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perez trying to control the action but Maiden is working from the bottom. You can see the frustration on Maiden's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Maiden is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Foot Loves that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Maiden is breathing heavily. Perez staying calm. Perez working the ground and pound but Maiden is defending the strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Perez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Maiden keeps working. Sloppy strikes there by Perez. Maiden wants to control but Perez postures up. Perez is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Maiden is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Perez controls the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Perez in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Perez stands up and we're back to a striking position. Perez shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Perez takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Perez fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Maiden to the ground. Perez is now in Maiden's guard. Perez trying to control but Maiden is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Perez postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Perez controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Maiden knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Perez on the ground. Perez trying to control the position from guard on top but Maiden is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Perez forces his way into half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Perez wants to control but Maiden is keeping him busy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pedro Perez dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Perez shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Maiden's guard. Maiden might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Maiden trying to control the position.
Perez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Perez controls from within his opponent's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Perez lands a couple of decent looking shots. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Perez looking to pass the guard. Perez passes Maiden's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perez wants to pass the guard but Maiden is defending well. Perez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Maiden is just riding it out for now. Perez eventually gives up the hold. Perez sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Maiden defending well though. Perez thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Maiden's head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Maiden keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Perez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Maiden keeps working. Perez is taking a breather. Maiden says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Perez closes the distance and clinches. Perez misses with a knee to the head. Maiden is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Perez to keep the fight standing. Perez scores with a shoulder strike.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Maiden wants to stall.
Maiden tries to pull guard but Perez forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Perez pulls guard effortlessly. Perez is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Maiden is aware though and is defending well. Maiden has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Perez not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Maiden stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Perez swivels though and keeps the full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Perez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Maiden's guard. Perez controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Perez with a flurry of punches that miss. Perez trying to control the position from guard on top but Maiden is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Perez pushes down on Maiden's leg and manages to get into half guard. Perez is keen to just control but Maiden is a slippery customer. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pedro Perez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Perez changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Maiden looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Perez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Maiden keeps working. Perez is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Maiden looks calm but he's in trouble here. Perez gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Maiden is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Perez lets go of the hold and Maiden can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Pedro Perez!
