Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jim McKinnon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim McKinnon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thomas Anderson! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McKinnon scores with a three punch combo!
McKinnon misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Anderson swings and misses with a hook to the body.
McKinnon closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. McKinnon stands up and beckons Anderson to his feet. McKinnon drives through and clinches with Anderson against the cage.
Anderson decides to pull guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Anderson is working an open guard so McKinnon takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. McKinnon changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Anderson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Anderson struggling a bit here. Anderson trying to remain calm as McKinnon controls from the top position.
That's one minute gone in the round. McKinnon stands up and we're back to a striking position. McKinnon scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. McKinnon decides to stand up, so the ref orders Anderson to his feet. McKinnon scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. McKinnon not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. McKinnon seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Anderson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. McKinnon stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Anderson drives through and clinches with McKinnon against the cage.

McKinnon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McKinnon bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. McKinnon wants to control but Anderson is keeping him busy. McKinnon decides to stand back up. McKinnon closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Anderson to the mat! Anderson manages to get full guard. Anderson looking for a guillotine here but McKinnon defends easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. McKinnon stands up and waves to Anderson to follow him. McKinnon circles away from the clinch attempt.
It looked like McKinnon was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. McKinnon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Anderson. Anderson tries to clinch up. A head kick from McKinnon lands but Anderson takes it in his stride. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jim McKinnon dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Anderson moves into the clinch. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. McKinnon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. McKinnon lands a big head kick that sends Anderson tumbling to the mat! McKinnon takes a step backwards and waves Anderson back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Anderson is rocked! Anderson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McKinnon paws at him with a jab and circles away. Anderson is still on wobbly legs! Can McKinnon finish him? McKinnon fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Anderson sprawls well initially but McKinnon persists and gets the takedown into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McKinnon trying to mount his opponent but Anderson defends it. Anderson seems to have recovered his senses. Anderson wants to control but McKinnon is keeping busy.

That's one minute gone in the round. Anderson is pressing down on McKinnon's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. McKinnon throws a big right hand that misses. McKinnon looking to sit in guard and control but Anderson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Anderson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. McKinnon is keeping the position for now. Anderson trying to control the position from guard on top but McKinnon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Anderson throwing strikes but missing. Anderson wants to pass the guard but McKinnon is keeping the position. Anderson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McKinnon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. McKinnon tries to land a sweep but no joy. Anderson tries to free his leg and advance position but McKinnon is retaining full guard. Anderson being controlled here momentarily.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Anderson tries to keep at a distance but McKinnon has taken the fight into the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Anderson blocks a body shot from McKinnon. Anderson jumps guard but McKinnon stands there with Anderson around his waist. Anderson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Anderson is working McKinnon over against the cage. McKinnon jumps into guard, dragging Anderson to the mat.
McKinnon avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. McKinnon keeping moving, preventing Anderson from controlling successfully. Anderson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on McKinnon, up you get!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Anderson misses with a straight right. McKinnon shoots in and gets a takedown into Anderson's guard. McKinnon decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. McKinnon clinches up against the cage. Anderson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by McKinnon after a bit of a struggle. Anderson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. McKinnon just stands there and leans against the cage. Jim McKinnon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thomas Anderson. McKinnon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Anderson is trying hard to land a takedown here. McKinnon sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. McKinnon lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Anderson backs up against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Anderson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into McKinnon's guard. Anderson is breathing heavily. Anderson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. McKinnon is keeping the position for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

McKinnon has Anderson up against the cage in a clinch.
Anderson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables McKinnon to keep the fight standing. McKinnon is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Anderson can do to turn this around? Anderson tries for a takedown but McKinnon manages to get underhooks.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Anderson. McKinnon is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. McKinnon gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Anderson.
Jim McKinnon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Thomas Anderson. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Anderson jumps guard and drags McKinnon to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Anderson looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but McKinnon puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McKinnon trying to control the position from guard on top but Anderson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McKinnon controls from within his opponent's guard. McKinnon stands up and waves to Anderson to follow him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McKinnon looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Anderson blocking the ground and pound attempt from McKinnon. McKinnon uses his free foot to push down on Anderson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Anderson. McKinnon tries to control but Anderson wriggling away. McKinnon lands a nice shot to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McKinnon landing strikes, looking to finish! McKinnon trying to control but he's not successful this time. Anderson is working to get back to half guard.

Thomas Anderson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Anderson is squirming around, avoiding McKinnon's attempts to control the action. Jim McKinnon is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. McKinnon controlling the position easily from mount. Jim McKinnon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. McKinnon trying to control but he's not successful this time.
And that's the end of the fight! Jim McKinnon showed his dominance in that final round. Well McKinnon has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
