Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roberto Hooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jens Huppner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Roberto Hooper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jens Huppner!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Huppner throws a head kick that misses.
Hooper swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Huppner bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Huppner is looking to take a break and control but Hooper is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Huppner might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hooper haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Huppner tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Huppner looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Hooper is avoiding damage well.
Hooper can't do much from the bottom here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hooper tries to bench press Huppner off him but Huppner keeps the position.

The strikes coming from Huppner are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Huppner stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Huppner manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hooper on his heels. He'll look to pass Hooper's guard now, I'm sure.

Hooper really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Huppner passes into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Huppner in particular looking to stall.
Huppner prevents Hooper from standing back up.

Huppner is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hooper defends it well.

Huppner is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Huppner thows a huge punch but Hooper dodges it nicely.

Hooper is not content to let Huppner control the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Huppner shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hooper's guard.

Hooper is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Hooper stops Huppner from getting back to his feet.
Huppner is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hooper content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Huppner keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

Hooper avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Huppner darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Huppner is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Huppner is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Hooper!
Hooper wants to hold on but Huppner pushes him away.
Huppner looking to control but Hooper is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Huppner jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Hooper is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Hooper and Huppner has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Huppner moves nicely into side control.
Hooper is looking for a sweep.
Huppner trying to control the position but Hooper is working away.
Huppner has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
You can see the frustration on Hooper's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Huppner has control of an arm but Hooper manages to advance to Huppner's back!

Huppner is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Hooper controls the position.
Huppner tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Hooper is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.

Huppner tries to lock up and control but Hooper gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Huppner is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

Hooper working for a guillotine from mount but Huppner is in no mood to give up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Jens Huppner will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Huppner throws a wild body kick that Hooper sees coming a mile off.
Hooper swinging wildly here.
Despite the aggression on Huppner's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Huppner keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Huppner looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Huppner is pushing down on Hooper's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hooper is fighting to maintain full guard but Huppner has managed to sneak the leg through.

Huppner wants to take a breather but Hooper is having none of it.

Huppner stalling away here and it's allowed Hooper to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Hooper is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Huppner defends well.

Hooper looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Huppner has picked Hooper up and slammed him! Hooper can't keep hold of the triangle and Huppner manages to pass to side control!
Hooper is not content to let Huppner control the position.
Huppner tries to advance to mount but can't.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Huppner advances to mount.
Huppner can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hooper is looking to escape.
Huppner controlling the pace for now.
Huppner tries to control but Hooper wriggling away.

Huppner looking to control and managing it successfully.
Huppner throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Hooper because Huppner loaded up on that one.
Hooper flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

Huppner is stalling here but it's allowed Hooper to get half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hooper is staying active underneath Huppner, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Huppner stands up from half guard.
Roberto Hooper is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Huppner scores with a takedown into Hooper's guard.

Hooper working for a triangle but Huppner defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Huppner postures up in Hooper's guard and throws a big left but Hooper blocks it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jens Huppner comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Huppner winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
