The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Todd pushes Pierce up against the cage in a clinch.
Pierce gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Pierce can't break the clinch.
Todd trying to stall but Pierce improves his position.
Pierce goes for a takedown in the clinch but Todd prevents it.
Pierce displaying some good clinch control by pressing Todd up against the cage.

Pierce breaks from the clinch.
Todd takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Pierce scores with a takedown into Todd's guard.
Todd wants to get back to his feet but Pierce is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pierce loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Todd really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pierce. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Pierce is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Todd drives through with a takedown into guard.
Pierce has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Pierce is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Todd is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Todd arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Pierce's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
