PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Peter Lay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Davidson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mark Davidson struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.4lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

No joy there for Davidson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Mark Davidson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Lay changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Davidson tries to avoid it but Lay manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Davidson to the ground. Davidson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Davidson scores with the left hand. Lay knows he should have avoided that one.
Davidson jabs Lay to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Lay looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Davidson throws an overhand right that lands on Lay's shoulder, as Lay tries to avoid the shot.
